As to the idea that Vista has "increased supply" simply does not pass the smell test.

If people would look around there is no way they would ever see that. This narrative that hoarding can cause these types of shortages does not hold up. These mass quantities are never arriving at dealers to be hoarded.

With all due respect, that simply isn't true. The amount of ammunition (and primers) for sale since Remington ramped up production is much greater than it had been.

There simply isn't a grand conspiracy to reduce supply. As far as hoarders, I know people that are buying "just because its available". I get several emails a week when things such as primers come in stock and its more and more frequently. I've even been seeing Remington brand primers available from time to time. We are fortunate that companies that are making ammo are setting aside a portion to sell rather than keeping them for themselves to sell higher-margin ammunition.

As far as a "virtual monopoly", Vista owning CCI and Federal, to now owning Remington really doesn't seem to have any ramifications for the consumer. Instead of there being two parent owning primer makers, there are now two parent companies owning primer makers. Remember, Remington wasn't making ANYTHING before. I don't know what grand conspiracy you're alluding to, but you've not got any evidence to support it. You're speculating.

I passed on Remington 7-1/2 primers at Midway the other day. If they were in at Brownells I would have bought them (60 miles away).

40 million firearms were sold last year. The Antifa and BLM riots have brought it record numbers of new gun owners, buying ammo at any cost. Most that already had guns saw what was coming and stocked up. I told myself after the Clinton election, that I would never be caught in the mindset of being able to go to the local sporting goods store and purchase whatever I needed/ wanted. The components are going in loaded ammo first, I would wager. On the other side of the coin, with possibly the most anti 2A group we have ever had, would anyone here want to put up everything they had when you know what your up against? Now throw in the fact that do to the plandemic the govt was paying people close to $40,000 a year to not go to work between unemployment, health care ect. 4.3 million have left the workforce in the last year. We all wanted cheaper goods and this brought China, promising cheap crap to all, and we are all paying the price.

They tried to put someone in charge of the ATF that did not think private citizens should own a gun. At least 1/3 of the Congress and Senate don't think anyone should own a gun. After WWII, yes actually they did. Where do you think all of the bullet presses that the bullet mfgs. came from?

I just believe there is more to the story. All these "new" gun buyers are the liberal gun haters worst nightmare and they will stop at nothing to control their purchasing power. The legal system is about the easiest way. Sue the gun manufacture, the gun shop, the ammo maker and they have slowed or stopped the system. And, control the product. If you don't think the government, including a bunch of rino's, aren't involved, your head is firmly planted under you coat tail!

Gun buyers and owners are the enemy of our government, most live in "fly over" land and don't vote or contribute correctly. We are of no use to them, now China on the other hand, is where the money is and that is all our politicians are interested in.

It's way more than Beto, and they want all semi auto firearms. Then they banned Russian ammo imports. I have been voting since 1980 and there are more anti 2A in congress and senate than ever before in my life by far. Those 40 million are 10% of the firearms in the US. Between the ammo that they are buying , long time shooters stocking up, because they know what the future looks like and the ban on Russian imports, that's a heck of a lot of ammo production . Then throw in the plandemic, and this is what we got. Don't ever think that the gun grabbing can never happen here. Before the riots last summer, 2A support was down in the low to mid 50's.

I just listened to the CEO of Vista Outdoors on Squawk on the Street. He was not very encouraging on fixing the shortage problem. He ststed that the number of shooters has increased dramatically. He said their plants were working overtime. He admitted they cannot make enough to meet the demand. There was no mention as to what it will take to solve the problem. No discussion on building new capacity.

My take away is they are really happy supplying what they can and continuing to increase prices. This will result in more hoarding, increased shortages and higher prices.

You can buy Vista stock and make money but you cannot spend it on shooting.

Get the turd in the white house OUT in 3 more years and re-open the market to Russian primers and ammo.
