Prometheus Gen II Anyone have one?

Just food for thought...

I have very accurate scales too, but....
Does the super-the-same weight always means the same speed/pressure?

I ran the Prometheus II this afternoon on 285 6BR cases ready to powder and bullet up. I thought the Giraud trimmer was the best pc of equipment I could invest in for my reloading process. I was wrong by a long shot.

I played with the Prometheus II quite a bit but loaded out today. I loaded the first 50rounds (checked a few with the GemPro250) and had them powdered and a 107SMK seated in 20 min. I had planned on only loading about 125 for tomorrows VS match.

Two hours after I started I had 285rounds loaded and could have easily done at least 325 if not better.

The only issue I have is moving equipment around to better the process. Not the process of the PII, placement of items on my bench. I have too much on the bench that doesn't get used often enough, my seater die press needs to be right next to the PII.

Earlier this week I ran test loads running the Chargemaster and while I won't get rid of them (I run two) the GemPro250 showed me what they will actually do.
After running the PII today, I will have an issue running the CM's as the Prometheus is within sight on the bench.

Of the 285 rounds loaded, I had maybe 5 loads that I dumped and re poured. This was due to me mostly, as I dumped the charge on the GemProII pan a touch fast and lost a kernel. (Bounce out)

Pretty neat pc of equipment. My biggest issue and it is not much is that I wish it was more user friendly on swapping and setting up for different powders. Then again, a little planning and thought on what and when you will load what would likely not make this an issue.
BTW, the modified RCBS powderthrow is very consistent and once I adjusted by the time I was nearly finished cut the load time considerably.

Mr. Brand Cole is building a very nice product that serious reloaders should take a look at.

I am using a balance beam scale tuned by Scott Parker with a TargetMaster trickler and I check the weight with my GD-503. Still way under the cost of the Prometheus and faster than using the Omega trickler and GD-503. I throw a charge with a powder measure, set the pan on the scale start the trickler and by the time I have seated a bullet the TargetMaster has shut off. I then set the pan on the GD-503 check the weight and will occasionally have to either remove or add one kernel (IMR 4350) of powder. Since using this method my SD has not exceeded 8 for 15 shots and is usually around 6.
