Problem with Ruger 10/22 Sale

Have you messaged the seller and invited him to this thread to explain himself? Most of us already know who it is. If you are not going to post his name invite him here through PM or how ever you communicated with him.

It had a Leupold style base which is a 3 screw 2 front one rear. The rear was tighter than the gates of Hell with some form of thread sealer. The fronts had some goop on them that prevented them from falling out of base. The seller messaged me that he had removed the scope and all was tight prior to shipping and then reversed what he said by saying he never removed scope. Not looking for reimbursement. Just saying.

Yeah, sounds like he probably did suspect or know of that issue. I looked at the add and the price, considering the barrel and scope, and it honestly was very low, at least by Texas prices. The thing is, he still could have gotten that price IMO disclosing stripped front holes, and if he knew, of course he should have.

I always make the deal with a money back guarantee on things I sell. I expect that on things I buy. I have never been screwed here. But I have not dealt with GW. Nor will I.

A couple thoughts from a casual observer:

I've had a 10/22 come from the factory with stripped scope base holes. Hand tapping them to #8 screws was easier than returning.

The ad says 3 day inspection period. Did you contact him about all the issues within 3 days?

It also says 4 mags, so yeah, he should probably do something about the missing mag.

The pics seem to show a few other custom parts - trigger, bolt handle and mag release. A 10/22 receiver(even one that needs retapping), a Hogue stock, a Kidd fluted and threaded barrel, a Weaver 6-24 and 3 mags for $400 is not a bad deal. But, we don't know what shipping cost you.

Yessir I contacted him about magazines while at gunshop. Contacted about stripped holes within a couple of hours.

Many have asked if he's contacted me today. Why yes he has.

Considering how George Wilson has dealt with this, I'd guess he should just resign his membership. He will never be able to sell anything here again.
Perhaps the Forum Boss could weigh in on this fraud...?

Right on, Idaho...
If the worst of this situation is retapping mounting holes and the seller(generic person) turns out to be a douche, then it's not the worst situation. Chalk it up to a learning experience. Me, I always ask detailed questions and get the response in print in a DM to pass along to the forum boss if it ever comes to that. In one situation (more extensive than this), I've had the local sheriff's office pay the seller a visit. Again, that was an extreme situation. Professional terminolgy I believe is called, " Grand Theft".
OP, wish you good success with this issue.

A long time ago, I sold something with an unknown problem. The buyer pointed it out and I said send it back and I’ll refund your payment.
