problem with jewell BR trigger

I maybe having a problem with a jewell BR trigger, When the trigger is pulled and held in(bolt out of gun) if you try to push the sear down its hard to push like its stuck and then pushes down ok. So like it hard to push untill it starts to move and then moves ok. Anyone have any ideas??Trigger is clean!

No have to fix it myself. That is not a normal condition is it??, i dont want to be chasing a ghost. with bolt out of rifle if you hold the trigger in and push down on the sear its hard to push, like its stuck, once it starts to move goes up and down ok.I started to get vertical in my group, with a rifle and load that is know to shoot good. and after tuneing load still have vertical stringing. Was thinking this might be a possible problem??Never had it before and just dont know??

Clean the assembled trigger with lighter fluid. If that doesn't do it, get a diagram of how the internal parts are assembled and take it apart...and clean it. Take your time. don't force anything. Use the right tools, and work on a clean surface with good light. Reassemble and readjust. If that doesn't work, send it to Jewell.

Don't do what? Occasionally flushing the trigger with lighter fluid is their recommendation for maintenance.

If you hold the trigger back and try to cock it with your digits....It might very well have problems cocking in that condition. Do you feel like there is a problem with your trigger when used under normal conditions?

markr, i just dont know. Boyd, called jewell and they said it should not be hard to push. But im not sure, cleaned trigger going to set it up on rifle tonight and try shooting early sunday morning. The trigger is-if you hold in the trigger and try to push down on the sear with your finger feels like its stuck(hard to push down) then brakes away and pushes down with just what feels like normal spring pressure. a know good shooting rifle started virtical stringing,I been blameing myself, hate to think my trigger shit the bed.

Jewells seem to have started to cut corners of late. the side plates apparently have burrs left around the pin holes. Also the spacer tubes are inconsistent in length which causes the side plates not to be parallel......all of which does not permit the arms to move freely from shot to shot. Three years ago my newly built 30BR failed me in a match ( after having been used for half a season), I gave it to my Smith to rework. It now works as well as the older Jewells I have. From now on I will have the Smith "blueprint" any new Jewells. And Kelbly is not failsafe either.

That seemed to have worked, cleaned trigger, shot a .2128 agg cant post targets yet, scanner down but as soon as i get it fixed will be posting targets.
