Trigger adjustment

The trigger in my rifle was changed. Put in a Jewell br. After adjusting according to Jewells instructions, I can slam the bolt and it doesn't go off. However after firing a round it doesn't always reset unless I push the trigger shoe forward then it will reset.

Not sure this is technically correct but this is what I would do. Turn each adjusting screw in 1/8 Turn. If it corrects the problem I would back out each screw to original position. When it worked I would let the culpert in and readjust the others to their starting point. But first before doing anything I would flush it with lighter fluid. A very tiny pics of dirt can foul these triggers. Several times fixing them for friends just taking t the side plate off and looking in you will see a tiny little something that doesn't belong. Remove and your fixed.

Everybody.................Stop oiling your triggers!!!
(30 yr veteran newbies still don't believe this)
it does not need it
it does not help it

Another example of proof of that here
Glad you found the problem

If you insist on oiling your trigger the only approved oil is Sperm Whale Oil
Otherwise do not oil it at all.
good luck

All I found was some oily mess. As I purchased this trigger used, I guess it's always been in there.
Hopefully, proper operation can be restored by cleaning. But your reset spring appears to be missing a 90 degree bend on the extension arm that contacts the sear pivot (like the bend on the other extension arm that contacts the sear bar).

You have to look close. It has a 90° bend on each end.

I was refering to the fellow had it previous you purchased it from. I hope it is that simple. I flush mine a couple times each season. I trust you will find you solved it.

I just took one apart that was having same issue. I tried lighter fluid before taking apart but no luck. Took apart and had same issue as yours. Cleaned up real good and polished side plates. Put back together and tested before a match last week. 120 rounds later after match and testing all good and possible better then before.

That style with the pivoting lower lever is particularly prone to not resetting. If you're able to properly clean and detail all the internals, that will get it up and running again.

Sounds like someone might have been cleaning without a bore guide.
do people squirt their bore brush down when its in the action port instead of before entering the gun?
even when I clean without a bore guide from time to time, I still dont drip stuff down into the action?
i dont get how a trigger can get so slathered with cleaning product it looks as if someone took an oil can to it

I haven’t had much luck keeping solvent out of the trigger on my rimfires since the bottom of the guide is open to clear the ejector that protrudes from the bottom of the action. Am I doing something wrong?
