what is the reason for using fed gm primers for the 6mm ppc verses remington 7 1/2 primers and for that matter any small rifle primers

Just my opinion, but I think shooters found a recipe that works and stick with it. That being said I think there's a lot of "shooter A" uses them so they must be good. Personally I use a lot of Tula primers.

It's probably because the Fed 205M's do better than the 7 1/2's due to the difference in ignition properties (the flame). Remington's tend to have a hotter flame and may not produce the best ignition in the smaller cartridges like the 6mm PPC.

I don't know if they're still available, but German Salazar had several types of primers with flash pictures.

No, it's not a shutter timing issue; it's done by multiple frames taken to get the right timing.

Don't have pics of those CCI's, but maybe the BR2's will give you some idea:

Camera wise, I'd try a dark filter, and set for bulb mode and use
a black background. get that lens stopped way down......

I use Federal GM for my TPE because Jim Borden said they work best with the way he modded the firing pin and bolt..
