primer seating

If the Lee product is doing well for you, insted of getting that RCBS priming tool, why don't you use that money something else, like more brass? Just thinking out loud here.

That's exactly what I had in mind. I recently bought a new Autoprime XR to replace the original Autoprime that I'd used for years. The original, with it's round feeding tray, ran well but it was too small to take Federal primer trays, and it lacked a safety feature to prevent chain fires while priming (in all fairness, over years of use this was never a problem for me. 'Course once woulda been enough!) The small round feed tray was a nuisance, though.

A couple of weeks ago, one of the retaining ears on the XR's primer tray cover broke off while I was snapping it on. I went to the Lee web site looking for a replacement, and found that they'd come out with an improved version with enhanced safety features, and that they'd replace the old ones free of charge; just send back the old ones. So I did it and just got the replacements a coupla days ago. Haven't tried them yet, but if they work as good as my old Autoprime did I'll stick with that. If not, then the RCBS unit will probably replace it. 'Course it'll be too late for me to take advantage of the sale price, but that's life.
