Primer Seating Depth

The 21st Century Priming tool has the adjustment for primer seating depth. I always just seated primers to the bottom of the cup. Can someone enlighten me about the need to adjust the seating depth?
The bottom of the pocket is different on each case. I uniform and still seat by feel. Th only fail to fire was when I tried seating to the same depth even thou they were uniformed? It may be an attempt to sell you an expensive tool. Check out Eric Cortina's video on case prep. He promotes an expensive seating tool made by a friend of his. Erik doesn't sort cases by weigh or volume. Doesn't uniform flash holes. Reading the wind swamps all the little nuance improvements. The Jack Neary video might be helpful.

fyi - having a 21c tool dosent mean you only seat by a set depth. You can also adjust it to you can also seat 'by feel'. best of both worlds, The 21c is the most ergonomic imo. My only complaint is they should make it lighter. Oh and not all of shoot 1000 yd f- class where wind mastery trumps all else. ( which many will say good ammo + wind reads wins )

Once you start actually measuring primer crush, you learn right off that you cannot do it consistently by feel.
You should learn how to measure it, and do it, so that you will know this.
