Primer prices?

If you can find them, what is the going rate for primers these days? Large pistol in particular. I have a pretty good stock of SR, but my .45acp is getting hungry. I saw someone advertising for $80 a brick? I know they are higher these days, but that high?

Yup. That high or higher is what they're going for many places. How badly one needs these is how much you'll pay to keep shooting... or not. Hoping they go down some rather than up before I need to buy anything. We'll see.

One of my Local reloading shops just got 75k in last week of various cci an the small pistol was 74$ an small/large rifle is 76$.

My smith got 50k cci br lr in 7 months ago an had them for 50$

Reloaders need primers, I paid $23 per thousand 2 yrs ago... than $40, than $50 locally...now, noone locally has primers...so I spent $940 for 10,000 CCI 450 and CCI 350 primers delivered...a semi good deal for these times. I plan on shooting through these inflationary bad times, that will most likely get much worse, as the government keeps printing trillions of more dollars...with no indication the politicians are going to stop printing and spending...they don't even read the spending bills...just pass them...they are voting in their best interests, not yours...unless you can contribute large sums to their reelection. I prefer to buy primers.

There are none here in South Central Alaska. The last ones I found 4-5 months ago were 90/thou. The big shops here said they "got a letter from cci & win" that they won't be sending any primers to Alaska for the rest of the year. I don't stock pile years worth and will be out by the end of summer so I've started looking on my own. The only source for quantity I've found is targetsportsusa. (if you know of another PLEASE LET ME KNOW!) They are some kind of internet store and everyone that has answered the phone has a foreign accent. Still I am ready to drop the cash for 20-30k primers at 599/5 thou (plus freight). The hitch is getting them here. I have to ship thru Washington State and this dam company can't get it thru their head, even after providing them with the WA State web site showing the law, that Alaskans shipping thru Washington are not subject to their sales tax. So the next step was complete the Washington State Tax Exempt form. The form says right on it, in bold letters, do not send this to the State. But the DAs at this 'store' say I must send the form to the State and the State send them an exemption. It has been a total &^%*ing goat rope. I won't stop shooting because of cost. It will be from lack of supplies.

$85-100 per 1000ct seems fairly common, in my area. Occasionally up to $120 per, but that's getting more rare.

Occasionally, a local shop has them for $50-60 or so, but there's often only a few boxes and once word gets out ... poof! they're gone.

Have seen a few small shops priced at ~$45/bx, but there's never any inventory.

I have ordered ammo from them before with no problems. But after reading this I think I will consider better options.

out of frustration, since they haven't replied to the latest form I send, I did a little internet searching about the company. It's kinda of interesting. The company is owned by Bosnian immigrants, husband and wife, and has done very well. Last year buying several million in commercial properties in CT. At the same time they got a covid "loan" that was 100% forgiven. A smart, industrious family. I wish I could find an alternative...
