Pistol primer question

I know this is a rifle forum, but gun guys are usually broad in knowledge. I have been unable to find large pistol primers anywhere for quite a while. Stumbled upon a brick of Federal Gold Medal Large Pistol Magnum primers today and scooped them up, hoping they will work fine in my 45ACP. Thoughts?
Scott

The Federal Magnum and Standard primers have the same amount of priming compound.
The only difference is the thickness of the cup. This is NOT true of other primer brands.
Federal Factory 9mm ammunition is loaded with their 200 (Small Pistol Magnum) primer.
I've used thousands of Federal LPM in .45 ACP, in multiple 1911s, Glocks, and Thompsons,
and even more thousands of Federal 200's in 9mm, in dozens of pistols, all with zero issues.

One more time:
The above information is applied by me, for my personal use only, and ONLY with Federal Primers.
I suggest you contact Federal, and get your own answers.

Anyone who tells you to only follow factory published loading information -is absolutely correct.

Start low and work up as normal anytime you're not absolutely sure what's happening.... Just like rifle look up pressure signs in pistol and check for them.... Hopefully you have a crono to check speed... I don't load hot for my pistol so it helps and the paper knows no difference....

It looks like I'll buy the remaining cases this weekend. I don't load much pistol but I snagged a good deal on brass, bullets and a like new Dillon 650 so I'll be shooting more.

Hey Scott, I’ve been shooting the USPSA league in Burnsville for the last couple months. It’s a lot of fun and a nice change of pace, you should come and try it sometime. Every first and third Thursday at 7pm.
