Like @qldreloader I use the Sinclair sold carbide uniformer. Never goes out of adjustment, lasts forever. But I have found on Lapua brass it doesn't cut anything. The pockets are deep and square.which one do you guys prefer for Lapua 223 brass
Have you ever measured Lapua primer pockets?I don't bother with Lapua brass. For other brass I like the Sinclair non-adjustable one.
I got and like my 21st Century adjustable uniformer, mainly because it's slightly smaller in diameter than others making is good for those pockets that are tight (smaller in diameter). Otherwise, I use an RCBS uniformer.which one do you guys prefer for Lapua 223 brass
Only with the depth gauge on Mitutoyo calipers. I don't have any other way of doing it.Have you ever measured Lapua primer pockets?
Even on the 220 Russian brass it takes awhile to see the Sinclair taking anything out of the pockets.Like @qldreloader I use the Sinclair sold carbide uniformer. Never goes out of adjustment, lasts forever. But I have found on Lapua brass it doesn't cut anything. The pockets are deep and square.
Good point. My 6.5 PRC Peterson brass has pockets measuring .129 and the 6.5 PRC Lapua brass measures .121. For my .308 brass, the small rifle primer pockets are .119 for Lapua brass and .122 for Alpha brass. Measuring Remington 9.5's that I have, their at 1.31-1.32, which might be a problem with my PRC Lapua brass.Interesting to note that not all brands share the same depth pockets, preset uniformer might be .122 but the pockets measure .124 or in my case .126. This is where the adjustable cutter head comes in handy.
