Primer for Dasher and 55gr Ballistic tips?

Hi,

I am using Somchem S335 to shoot 55gr Ballistic tips at 3970 on a 10 twist 27" Krieger.

But I am running out of case capacity, 38gr to be exact. No other brand of powder in Sa.

I am using Br4s, should I rather use federal 205m or CCI450s on the light bullets?

Thanks
Chrisjan

What does somchem s335 cross over in our area.Never heard of the powder. Is it ball powder? Is it like h335 over here.

Jonbearman,

Yes it is. Imr3031 and Rel 12 is also close. It is a stick/extruded powder.

It is more temperature stable than ball, and easy to ignite.

I was oping to try the hottest most consistant primer to boost the speed a bit. I am sure that alot is not burned because of the light bullet.

I have heard of more than one Dasher shooter using the CCI magnum primers with good success.

If you do get your ballistic tips up to and over 4000fps, can you post a video of whatever varmint happens to be in front of it.
