Dasher with 95gr Bergers

Hi Guys,

I am shooting a 6mm Dasher with a 10 twist 27" Krieger, 1000 shots through it. I drive it with 35.5gr of Somchem S355. It has the same burn rates as Rel 15. It runs at 3160 fps. I am shooting the Bergers at 0.006 to 0.012 off a very hard jam.

I tried jumping it to 0.040 but it is more consistent in the lands. I would like to have better 5 shots groups than 1.4" at 400m, around 440yards.

Thanks for the help
Chrisjan

Here is some pictures. Note the speed decrees when the temp drops. S355 is a stick powder just as Rel15. QL predicts a node at 3200fps, but it seems to shoot best at 3160 to 3180.

I am looking to start using in F-Open in South Africa.

1.4" at 440ish yards is pretty good. What is your set up like? And are you shooting from a rest or bipod?

Attached is some pictures of my setup, It is not bad, but there is lots better available. The rear bag needs a thick flat bottom and the table has minimal movement but some. It is not a concrete range table. I use it at the farms that I shoot black back jackal. It allows you to choose your shooting direction to eliminate wind. I would blame the .4" on the setup.

That's a nice looking rig! If you think your setup is messing with you then it probably is. I have no idea what it's like to get stuff where your at but I think if you upgraded your rest and bag it'd help a bunch.

And what your shooting is like now, I'm not sure your gonna be able to improve on it much. You'd be doing pretty good at 600yd br matches here.

Chrisjan,
I have always been interested in building a magazine fed dasher. How well does that rifle feed from a magazine? Which magazines are you using? Any mods needed to get it to feed? Thanks for your help.
Chris

It is built on a SS Howa action, I am using an opened up 223 magazine, it has longer feeding rails/ lips than the 243 magazine, it feeds perfect for ultra slow bench rest and super hard race shooting.

I am yet to try and use AI polymer magazines. I think you can make them work too.
