Sierra Gamekings vs Nosler Ballistic Tips for whitetail / hog hunting

168 grain? Are you getting any pressure signs or flattened primers? That is good velocity especially from a .308 and the TMK has better BC too of .535 over the Nosler BT with BC of .490

Side note, I don't even understand why the Berger 168 VLD has a poor BC of .473
JRS is right. BC means nothing inside of say 400-500 yards on the 308. You'll never see it in drop or hardly at all on wind. Yes mine are 168 TMKs. No pressure signs and great accuracy. I tried for the most only because I considered 600 yards as a possibility on whitetails. Not that 42.0 grains couldn't accomplish the same but wanted a higher speed and less drop and a little better wind defiance.

I agree on BC not an issue, just brought up the BC subject anyway.
Yes the number is impressive vs Amax and Berger. Tipped sierras seem to be slick bullets. Hornady doesn't make a newer eld in 168 yet that I know of. When they do I'm sure it will be impressive. Their 178 eld is around .55.

Heard some fellas using the Hornady 208 grain ELD Match for the .308, BC is impressive at .690

It was weird to see the 1000 yard drop data in which the Nosler BT had less drop over the Berger, its what confused me. I guess the bullet manufacturers , has yet, need to make corrections on its BC specs on it. Not bashing Nosler or any bullet manufacturer, I do love Nosler BT for my deer / hog hunting. I rely on ballistic data for my long range shooting, so BC data of a certain bullet is needed to get an accurate drop down chart for the range I intend to hunt or compete with.

No bashing is needed. Each manufacturer measures their bullets BC's in different ways and at different distances and this is why there is so much variance. I would bet that Nosler's BC would hold true within the performance window of this bullet. You would have to shoot it out past this window to see much difference. Run both BC's through a ballistic solver and see where the drop off will be obviously noticed. Should be very little difference in drops out to 500 yds are so between the 2 BC's.

I don't see anyone bashing, just discussing confusion on drop data and BC.

I prefer anything over .5 and the rest to me is picking pepper from fly shit. Very little difference to 500 and if I'm going beyond that, I'm using Berger's or Amaxs typically. I know what their real numbers are.
