Sorry John O., no harm meant. Just some ribbing and afternoon chuckles. Live primers are relatively harmless packaged in with household trash. No hazard exists when it reaches a landfill. In the extremely rare chance a tractor compactor detonated it no one would know.
You could roast one in a gas grill as mentioned. A "cook off " at a cook out...oops....joking again. Take an empty soup can, place primer inside. Fold over end with pliers or such. Place in grill on high heat. Close lid sit back and listen for a muffled pop. Both anvil and cup will be safely contained in the closed up can. Your neighbors will never know.
