Precision Air Rifles

Look out Alice!! I am down the rabbit hole myself. Or will be about noon tomorrow. I went back to the air rifle shop and shot the Panthera again. We kinda worked things out, and he is willing to make me a deal on a 90-day program. So, my wife got back from visiting her folks and I laid out the deal. The lovely lady tells me; just take the money out of the bank in the morning and go get it. You can pay it back. The best thing about being co-dependant is being married to an enabler.

Thank you all for sharing the rapid curve on PCP air rifles.

Which shop did you go to? See if they want to be a sponsor and we will do some buying from him

Amazing how these have moved up in the sporting world.

My EVOL in 22 is a blast but not easy to tune.
The FX M3 30 was easy as pie.
The FX M3 35 I'm a little on the fence about but don't have much time behind it yet.
As for a compressor I was talked into the Omega and to be honest.... I love that pump.

If you question the accuracy that the FX can achieve see the pic.
Pic is 10 at 100 yards
Outside not indoors

Got the rifle home. I had a very nice Feinwerkbau 300S I talked about trading in. Got in the door and an old friend was there. Waiting on the 300S. Sold it to him for enough $$$ to buy a carbon fiber scuba tank.
As soon as my Leupold 8.5-25-50mm arrives I can start the process.

Funny aside, there is a gentleman there named Luis Villa making slugs on a Corbin swaging press. Brand name: Luisville Sluggers. I shot a couple one ragged hole 5-shot groups at 25yds on their indoor range.

thanks again for the help here.

Interesting process. Have you seen the PRESSLUG system out of the Czech Republic video? A nice press, you cut wire or cast slug blanks, stick one in the press, and work the handle. It nips the excess wire, and forms a nice hollow point slug. One video shows the process with pre cut wire turning out a slug about every 5 seconds. I need to watch it again, but they were holding .1gr on a dozen or so, IIRC.

I just dont shoot slugs. Theres a bunch of molds available for the slugs so if you get a slug liner for your airgun it can be real cheap to shoot.

I want one of these to match my pellets. This is where the best pellets come from. An HM Hen pellet mold.

It’s a super slick setup, if the quality is better than off the shelf pellets.

Too bad they can’t be bought. The seller hasn’t responded in years and the handful that made it to the US are bought and sold instantly.

We need to find a mold shop to build these.

Im willing to buy right now. Those molds make the winning pellets for the extreme benchrest

Yes, nifty set up alright.
For now, I like the idea that Luis lives less than two miles from my house, and his quality is so consistent. The gentleman who bought my 300S has been shooting them BR and Field Matches for two years, and swears by them.

We are in discussion about setting up a 25yd indoor BR league. Do any of you shoot in a league, and how are the rules set up? Any limits on rifle or scope magnification? It would be tough to keep interest up if one guy shows up with a rifle/scope set up just like the one that won the last Airgun World Championships.

what would you use for full out right BR shooting 50 yards.. (no i didn't read the whole thread)
The new FX Panthera is getting a LOT of attention. I'm watching videos of owners shooting out past 200 yards and beyond. The accuracy is OUTSTANDING and the gun was purpose built to rival the 22 rimfire guns in the NRL competitions. Very, Very user tunable. The user can actually dial it in for the exact FPS that you want. And they offer an onboard chrono so that you can keep your shots at that point throughout different air densities and effecting conditions.

How are you liking this FX Dreamline Lite? I'm considering the Dreamline (normal stock) and doing my research. Seeing a LOT of positive reviews. Only a few negatives and it's usually due to air leaks after several months. But I see that with many other models and not just FX.

I like it a lot. My favorite actually due to weight ( lack of) for a truck gun.. Mine doesn't leak.. Most leaks happen when people screw around with their gun ( AKA tuning). I wish I had a bottle on mine for more shots when I have a lot of sparrows to shoot but that adds weight and bulk. Mine came tuned for dealer and is hole in hole..NO reason to screw with it.. Mine is only for killing sparrows and starlings..
