I hated to hear this sad news . I had not seen James in a while but thought of him often . He was the shooter who took me to my first IBS 600 yd. match . I had been asking him via the internet about 600 yd. competition as he was getting quite a name for himself at the time in the sport . Evidently he was the right one to ask ...James not only shared tips in reloading match ammo he carried me all the way to St. Louis to compete in my first match . He will be missed .

I just got word that James Phillips from Tennessee recently passed. He was an avid shooter, reloader and contributor to our sport! He was one of the first guys to earn a name at IBS 600 yard shooting in the early 2000’s. He was a great guy and always eager to help new shooters. Prayers to his family, loved ones, and his best friend, Otis, that traveled with James everywhere. Samuel Hall
Sorry very sorry to hear this , wish his family the best . RIP James

He was definitely guiding those bullets in the X ring yesterday for me. James was someone who loved helping others and always open to talk on the phone or give advice on reloading/shooting. He had been a huge help to me over the last year. Another great shooter and person has left the range

Although I didn’t personally know James, he always struck me as a true gentleman and he touched a lot of people’s lives. It’s alway hard when we loose one of our own. God bless all of his family and friends. Rest In Peace.
