Powder Valley makes it right

I ordered some brass and bullets from Powder Valley last week, and they were supposed to arrive on Wednesday. Well, the storm delayed the shipment for two days, arriving today. I think UPS spent the two days dropping the box. Five of the ten Lapua brass boxes (the new blue ones) were broken open, and the Berger plastic boxes were nearly so--which is impressive, since Powder Valley does a good job of packing everything. All told, there were about 200 pieces of brass that fell out of the outer box, and about 60 that were loose but still in the box that got pretty well mangled.

I called up PV this afternoon, totaled up the number missing and mangled, and sent them a few pictures for their claim with UPS. Bummer, but it happens. Well, later this evening, I got an email with a tracking number for the replacement boxes of brass.

Stuff happens, and PV made it right, and quickly. I hope y'all don't mind a bit of public thanks for some good customer service.

(I don't have any connection to PV other than as a customer)

I have ordered a fair amount of stuff from them in the past few months. I make them even more my goto dealer after reading this.

Excuse; Let me add a comment. All recall the most recent primer shortage . Which was a wake up call in disguise . Most if not all the suppliers that sell primers raised the price way out of site . Powder Valley held the price and supplied WOLF primers to the whole shooting community I remember well my friends . And so should we all . Good post NATE .

I don't know how the hell they break rifles in half other then to place them accross piles of stuff and either climb on it or toss a 50Lb box of frozen steaks on it.....but NOTHING surprises me with those people, and it happened to a friend in Indiana 2 weeks ago.

Yesterday UPS delivered a new Remington VSF to my transfer agent. I had first checked the UPS shipping route to see that it had stopped off at a total of 4 major city hubs in between. The box arrived wrinkled around the full circumference like it had been bent in half. You don't think I was afraid to look into that long and narrow paper box when it got here??!!

PV Great company to deal with!!! UPS um lets just say ill keep my mouth shut because I can feel my blood pressure ha...

Another loyal powder valley customer here......

People who are pleasant to do business with always get my repeat business......

Had the same thing happen to me with a shipment from PV. Do not have all bullets sorted out yet. Glad to know PV has good CS. Hate UPS.

ME too...recieved wrong bergers...notified them...got right stuff in 2 days BEFORE I even returned the mistaken product. They're great company!

The real problem is UPS. What they can't destroy inside the brown truck they do on the outside. The boxes are banged up and moron drives in my yard and tears it up...... jim

PV has always been great to deal with, prices, services and Customer service if there is a problem. ARE YOU LISTENING MIDWAY...

Glad to hear this about PV. I have not had a problem but good to know they are their if I do.

I have only had two problems with Midway and they replaced the items immediately with no questions asked and shipped the same day. Plus they donate a ton of money to shooting sports and education.

I like Powder Valley and just spent another $1400 with them. I usually receive my "hazmat" box in good condition. Apparently the note "hazmat" on the "manifest" along with the overpack makes it more difficult to destroy.

As for bullets and brass, I have them sent those items USPS in Flat Rate Boxes. Apparently the Post Office sorts using flat surfaces, not Cement Mixer Drums like UPS.

The abusive manner that UPS handles their shipments has sure kept Fedex in business. The company I bought my scope from refuses to use UPS when sending anything both fragile, and expensive.

Back to Powder Valley. With the service they've provided me over the last few years I'll not even be tempted to use anyone else.

After using midway and sinclair paying full price plus shipping for forever I finally checked out PV a while back and have to say they are now my go to place for anything hazmat. That and I got a screaming deal on some brass and bullets.

And for others that haven't found this out yet, Midway will charge two hazmat fees if you buy powder and primers at the same time. I't isn't because they can't be shipped in the same container, it's just that Midway has to ship them from two different locations.

And you know what? I'm still using Wolf primers and I won't go back the brand I used before!

Maybe they are afraid that it will explode. You may have hit on something. If willing to pay the hazmat fee as insurance, order 100 primers with your order to force a hazmat tag. ;)

Based on the results I've been getting with Wolf (now Tula) primers I'm finding it harder and harder to buy the other brands too. Shot some loads yesterday, side by side wolf and CCI BR-2's. Couldn't see the $20 per thouand difference. Neither could my caliper when measuring groups.
