I ordered my scale yesterday around 9:30 ish, UPS dropped it off @ noon ish today.. I ordered some bullets and brass from bullets.com a couple weeks ago and they showed up next day..

I haven't had much time with the scale, I've re calibrated it and zeroed my pan and it hasn't drifted in 15 min.. Also it is spot on with my beam scale and the check weight shipped with it was very close to my weight..

So, couple of ?'s/comments about the scale:

- Filtering parameters? What is it, what does it do, etc.

- you MUST be in gram mode to calibrate.

- Nice big readout, much heftier unit than my Ohaus YJ103

- in reading about zero tracking feature, my interpretation is that the smaller number you select, the smaller weight difference will be picked up by the scale.

i have been using my friends scale: for about 1.5 month, find that it is not a bad scale.
does tend to drift somewhat, but accuracy is pretty good: measure down to about 1 granule of varget.
only issue is that it does drift often which requires me rezeroing it.
otherwise pretty darn good for the price.
seems to drift more when i turn on the fluorescent light above the scale.
pretty happy with how it works
it does do well with adding a kernel here and there, but you have to wait and be patient, it can take a few seconds to give new reading after you drop a kernel or so of the varget powder.

Just got mine today and I am still getting to know it. It would be very nice to know what the filtering parameters are. The zero tracking function, from what I can tell on line, is how often the scale automatically resets zero. Scales will reset to zero even when tared. The options are .5d to 2d. What is d, dekasecond (10 seconds)? I noticed that if I didn't set the powder pan back on the scale in a timely fashion the scale would reset to zero and I would have to re-tare. Anyone else notice this, or was it just me? I do like the ability to weigh a single grain of powder. The 4166 extrusions that I weighed varied between .04 and .07 grains.

That was one that I found as well, but doesn't speak to the filtering. I will try and call today for some answers.

Filtering is a setting that relates to how long the scale will take to register the addition of a small amount of weight. For a higher vibration environment you would set filtering to a higher setting and it would take longer for the scale to show the addition of a small amount of weight, for a low vibration environment a lower setting and faster response. If your scale is being used in a a low vibration environment , you can use the lowest setting, with the benefit of faster response time.

Boyd if I read it correctly "d" is the scale division, .015 gr or .001g with this scale, and setting the auto zero to "1" will show an increment change of 0.5d or .0075gr or more realistically with this scale an increment change of .01 gr. Is that somewhat close to correct?

When I got my scale I notice that the instructions were incomplete, and asked Shiraz for more info. He got a hold of the manufacturer. This is the information regarding your question. I will be putting together a review later this week, that will have all of this in it.

how critical is it to put weighing pan in exactly same place when weighing on this unit? That's what I like about the GP250 it has little ridge that the pan sits perfectly on. So I know every time it is positioned correctly

And does this scale have a "linear calibration" option?

I have the scale sitting here and am looking forward to your breakdown on how to properly set it up before I even open the box. My request is to please start a new thread that will be focused in that direction.

Mine reliably picks up one grain of IMR-4166. This is an extruded powder and the individual extrusions weigh close to 0.04grs. I have now reloaded close to 100 rounds with the scale and I am impressed with its accuracy and lack of drift.
