Several old farts like me around here are getting to the point where they can no longer afford to pay their property taxes. In my opinion, taxing a person's home is the absolute most egregious tax ever devise by the government.
taxing people out of their homes. and insurance has gone up 4 fold.I haven't been to a restaurant in 4 years that includes fast food. Sardine sandwiches are my stable. I do allow myself one extravagance however, Maker's Mark.
However, I may be moving to Jim Beam if things continue to deteriorate.
Varget is still reasonably prices locally at $50 a lbs. at least a couple of weeks ago. I almost exclusively shoot 223 Rem bolt rifles these days. I can get 280 reloads out of a pound of powder. Last year I got back into 22 LR rifle shooting after a very long absence. I purchased a Tikka T1X and enjoy shooting it a lot which give me more range time. CCI Standard Velocity is too expensive, at least at present.
One nice thing about the 223 Rem is that it tolerates a lot of powders for producing good accuracy.
I hope I am wrong, but I see it getting much worse especially if the current administration is re-elected.

Yeah. Don't understand it either. It's funny, since we KNOW that inflation has only been like 3.7%.jd
they have More than Doubled, across the board, Don't think Materials/ Wages to produce them have Doubled or Trippled. leaning toward GreedWent for a stroll through my LGS. What a shock. 8 lbs. of powder now cost $440.
I bought 3 cheese burgers for the guy at the job site today. $23 plus tax. Just gas station burgers nothing special.2 hamburgers 1 fry & 2 drinks = $30.00
And that's at McDonald's2 hamburgers 1 fry & 2 drinks = $30.00
Yuck!!!And that's at McDonald's
I guess that's part of Build Back Better, according to clueless Joe Biden!!Milk, eggs, gas, paint, meat, veggies, fast food, --- everything seems to have gone up from 30 to 200%. Very few things are at, or even close to what they were a few years ago. It's funny, since we KNOW that inflation has only been like 3.7%.jd
Keep on “voting” for those “free” $1400 checks you received last time, it shall get worse!Went for a stroll through my LGS. What a shock. 8 lbs. of powder now cost $440.
They decided my house was worth 85% more from 2021 to 2024. So now I'm stuck with more taxes because of the mass exodus to rural communities.Completely agree.
A FYI that may apply to some here......I'm a disabled Veteran, live in my paid-off house but still must pay the dang property tax. BUT.....I found out that the small city I live in offers a substantial discount for disabled Veteran property tax if you apply and qualify, which I'm pleased to say I did.
It substantially reduced my property tax, but with all the damn people moving here from Cali, I'd imagine our taxes would go down with the increased revenue, but nooooooo.
Seems like that's the point inflation really started ramping up.Keep on “voting” for those “free” $1400 checks you received last time, it shall get worse!
Nothing is free, as much as some try to sell you that information. Lol
