Indeed. In that time there has been a lot of development in powders. The question and answers from experience of shooters over the years are still relevant because the 30-06 is apparently timeless...FYI, this is a 9 year old thread.
Give Hornady's Superformace a look and see. It's one of the best powders I've used for light loads. I've not tried it yet but I've read and read and have heard that the powder your using is the RIGHT stuff and the bullet to use is the 168gr Hornady for heavy stuff. I've used the SST's and they are amazing both the 150gr and the 165gr. SST. I shy away from the ELD's period. Either one have been a waste of my time and money because I can't get a good reading with my comparitor. Truthfully, I've found the old saying to be true with nearly every gun I've owned; "You have to find what your gun likes. That goes for powder charges as well. It's somewhat tedious but it does pan out in the end. IMR 4064 andWould appreciate comments re: correct powder for lighter bullets. I am using H4350 for heavy bullets but it looks like it will require a compressed load with lighter ones. I want to work up a 600yd. target load.
