powder for 30-06 150-175 gr bullet

FYI, this is a 9 year old thread.
Indeed. In that time there has been a lot of development in powders. The question and answers from experience of shooters over the years are still relevant because the 30-06 is apparently timeless...

After I bedded the recoil lug on my 21 year old 23.6” rotary hammer cold forged barrel Steyr, and switched from 180 Ballistic Silvertip to 150 Accubond with H4350, then switched to RL16 lit by WLRM, my velocity went from 2763 (180) to 2911 (150) and groups went from 0.75 moa to 0.3 moa.

IMO, there is plenty of new data to be shared on this 115 year old classic.

Would appreciate comments re: correct powder for lighter bullets. I am using H4350 for heavy bullets but it looks like it will require a compressed load with lighter ones. I want to work up a 600yd. target load.
Thanks
Give Hornady's Superformace a look and see. It's one of the best powders I've used for light loads. I've not tried it yet but I've read and read and have heard that the powder your using is the RIGHT stuff and the bullet to use is the 168gr Hornady for heavy stuff. I've used the SST's and they are amazing both the 150gr and the 165gr. SST. I shy away from the ELD's period. Either one have been a waste of my time and money because I can't get a good reading with my comparitor. Truthfully, I've found the old saying to be true with nearly every gun I've owned; "You have to find what your gun likes. That goes for powder charges as well. It's somewhat tedious but it does pan out in the end. IMR 4064 and
IMR 4895.
