powder between varget and H4350

I am shooting a wildcat based on a 7mm saum. It is bumped down 200thou at the shoulder

I have been running 52.5 grains of the australian H4350 ADI equivalend ADI2209 with a cci LR primer and a 162 amax seated 20 off the lands in remington brass. This was running at 2900 out of a 24 inch tube

Remington saum brass is near impossible to source out here (new Zealand) and so I have formed a batch of brass out of norma 300 saum. I am aware that I will have to back the load off as the norma brass is softer and has slightly less capacity. I was wondering if there was a powder that might be slightly quicker than H4350 that would minimise any loss of speed. I would prefer that the powder was also relatively temp-insensitive.

My other issue is that 162 Amax stocks out here will dry up soon which means I will have to change to ELD projectiles. Has anyone made this switch and if so did it nessitate major changes in seating depth/charge? (regardless I would work up carefully not jump straight in).

If you don't mind shooting a "HOT" double based powder, give VV N550 a shot! It is more towards H4350 than Varget, however, it definitely is "faster" than H4350.. It will also have the benefit of added speed to your load. However, it is not temp INsensitive. Make sure you have a load window of at least 1/2 grain and the temp sensitivity will not be of great concern..
 
I did consider that one but I only have an old version of quickload so not sure how it would compare it is supposed to be faster than RL-17? http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/tag/rl16/ also would temp sensitivity be a concern I had read that RL-17 had issues in this regard
Remember this: any powder, no matter it's alleged temp INsensitivity, if you run it at the TOP of your rifles node, it will, from time to time, go out of that node. Make sure you always have as large of a window as possible.

IMR 4451 is worth looking at, if you have it available. RE19 also works well but is temperature sensitive. Some people have good luck with RE17.
 
For a given velocity, a slower powder will give you less peak pressure and brass working. For your stated goals, I would recommend you look at a slower powder like h4831sc. You might have to use some compressed loads with the slower powders though.

I'm thinking more complicated from reverse logic. Being a Clays fan for my BE match .45acp, having moved away from the traditional BE powder, I see the Clays filling the case abt 2x (very ruff guess) more than BE for same end result. Wgt is abt .4 more needed for the Clays, no where linear with volume. The Clays seems to give a bit softer recoil impulse than the BE, and significantly cleaner.
 
To the original poster, Hogdon IMR-4166 is faster than IMR-4350 and is advertised as temp insensitive, like Varget.

That would seem to meet your requirements.

May I then deduce that the lower the number, the higher the intensity? This thought train from comparing the BE to the Clays.
