Post Office

Order from midway shipped 11-29.
I live in central TX.
Tracking, indicated at my local PO on 12-9 and was then sent to Laredo, TX, 200 miles away , out for delivery.

Shipping is screwed up right now. Lots of late deliveries. My advice is to forget the tracking numbers and be patient. I ship a lot of stuff and never had one lost. Sometimes it takes a while but eventually it will show up. Usually they wont let you make a claim for 2 weeks any how so might as well not worry about it.

I had a registered signature required USPS package show up a couple of days ago that had been opened both the outside shipping box and the interior packing package. Amazingly, my order was still in the open package. Are they shopping through packages now for anything they want? I wish there were alternatives.

USPS is slammed in my area too. We normally have the same mailman, but some random guy just delivered a package to me at 6:45 this morning. That never happens.

I've got one for ya,
I was waiting for my new scope from LanceXXX of course it took 3 days
longer than it should have, but I tracked it and was out for delivery, so I heard
the USPS jeep coming and was waiting at the door. The worthless driver put a note
in my box with the other mail saying I wasn't home and they would make another
delivery tomorrow. I watched her drive off. WTH
So I ended up having them hold the pkg and picked up the next day.
Too lazy to get out of the vehicle and come up to the door. Piss poor service.
Ranger, I have the exact same thing happen last year with FedEx. I live about 2 minutes from a large FedEx terminal. Fenced up like a prison. I managed to gain access through an unlocked gate I found. Finally got face to face with the manager. Package was quickly delivered to me. No problems since, must have a check mark beside my address now.I see this problem only getting worse with huge increases in online shopping spurred by ridicules lockdowns.

They have so many packages right now they are having to prioritize which ones to deliver each day. The package volume is heavier each day right now than at Christmas time which is usually the heaviest time of the year. Add several employees out for covid leaving them short handed, everyone ordering online and it’s a no win situation. Maximum capacity and then some. The routes all have a specific time it takes to get finished each day and that specific time is what the carriers get paid, right now it’s taking most carriers a couple extra hours or more each day to finish the route. Essentially the carriers are working longer hours for the same money. Be patient, we are in uncharted waters. Hope everyone gets their packages soon. Good luck

Got a lot of cool stuff out in oblivion with all of the big 3(usps,ups,FedEx). It’s always rough around this time of year but this year is much worse. They lost a tikka of mine for about a month in October, eventually just reappeared. Not sending any more firearms until the new year.

best to call in your important bills, or else your credit maybe ruined. House payment and one other took three weeks to arrive.

You also have to remember that the post office will hire any refuge that has little to no education, speaks broken English, with few if any computer skills....union does not allow them to be fired for being slow.

I ordered a Halloween Special from one place to get the free shipping and extra "Halloween Treats". I'm still waiting on that one too. Starting to feel tricked but the sender says it's still out there...

I think some snotty nosed brat ate your candy....lol

I guess due to the CV19 and so many people doing online shopping the USPS is slammed.
I have several Priority Packages in Limbo land.
One from 11/25 and some from 12/2 just in a holding pattern.
Tried to contact P/O customer service a bunch of times just got a recorded message and then went on line and filed out the form and then got a call back. I didn't answer it, they left a voice mail (didn't recognize the #) called back got a fax link.
The caller said the packages were not at the depot(no kidding). Where are they?
I understand they are slammed but dang answer the questions better.
I can rant real nasty but it doesn't get you anywhere.
I'll use UPS from now on.
Thud
UPS isn't any better. I had a UPS package (pistol being returned from mfr) go from Tampa to Ft Lauderdale in a day and a half, then sit there for over a week. Then an e-mail saying it would be delivered "tomorrow", while tracking showed it still in Ft Lauderdale. Took the day off so I could sign for it; the next day I received 2 e-mails, one saying out for delivery, the other saying delayed to the next day. Later that afternoon, another email saying they couldn't access the delivery location (regular residence; no fence or gate or anything.) Tracking still reported Ft Lauderdale. The next day I happened to catch the UPS truck as I headed out for a meeting, and was able to get the package (driver recognized me.) No signature required (despite having it on the tracking emails and on the package itself.) Didn't get a chance to check if it was still in Fla or not.

I received an update about my packages in limbo.
The local postmaster stated We are slammed they have never seen so much stuff and the effects of CV19 is
causing the stalemate.
I guess we just need to wait and see.

We shoulda gave them the money nancy said they needed. Wouldnt be having this conversation
Dusty, How does Amazon do the job they due without the tax money and a union? USPS has been overfunded for years. They lack leadership at all levels. I live a couple doors away from a retired Postal superviser that told me anytime he came up with a cost cutting program, he was taken to the woodshed. That`s the problem. I think the same leadership issues exist at Fedex and UPS. Jeff
