No,not at all. It had a 11" ID to start with, didn't have a center that big. I only posted the pic because I saw a little humor in it being the complete opposite of having the "minimum hanging out". Sorry to go OT a little.

You don't need a big center. Center drill a plate and push it against your hanging out part with the tailstock. Can we see a better photo of the chuck not turning?
