Y'all asked for it ......

So here it is.

I don't know the actual weight yet. My goal is to have this come in at or below 13 ounces.

Features:

Black Anodized Aluminum Body
Stainless Clamps
10-32 screws
HeliCoil thread inserts

Price = $195.00 (and that includes shipping to any US address)
I'd be interested in one as well.

I drew this up thinking this might offset some of the torsion the base screws are subjected to its not finished but I think you can get the idea.
I think I'll see if I can't get a prototype made up soon
At the time I didn't have the dimensions of the dove tails so I just mirrored the pic mount to see what it looks like with two mounts

Edit sorry it looks like that pic has to much blame in it to load properly.

Well anyway I offset the mounts 1" toward the center and beveled the edge to help for loading.

So are you going to start making these?

I wasn't planing on it.
my own If I ever get time.
It was more just to see if my idea looks like it would work good and to see if you guys like it.

I was going to do a center mounted version but people pointed out that it would be more user friendly to have the one scope over top of the rifle and the other scope to the left (or to the side if the rifle that you're sitting on)

I thought the center mounted arrangement would balance out the rifle but trying to look thru the scope on the opposite side of the stock would be a little tedious.

That makes sense

Dennis,

What would be nice is if you could somehow incorporate an adjustable recoil lug into the design. Maybe something that could snug up against the receiver to take some of the shear force off of the mount screws. Just thinking out loud.:)

something else to think about while you are still designing , will these mounts work for the guys that have left bolts ?

Good point.

Im guessing that they will have to put the unit on their rifle and shoot it opposite handed

I'm not Dennis but
Nice idea. Before looking at everything it seems there isn't much to go against.
Unless you have a rail gun or a barrel block,
more to think about..
