without one of the scopes being frozen how would you know which one was moving or if both scopes werent moving??
@Dennis_in_VA Is this a go, or is it dead in the water? People have been asking for updates for about a month now...
You can simply buy a set of Davidson bases, unless all of your guns have integral Pic rails. But I get what you're saying.Cool, but not really viable for those of us with no Davidson style rail to begin with...
Sir, if you're referring to me and facebook, don't. I am open with my contact info and also that phone is the best way to reach me. I do try to respond to everyone's emails and messages on the various forums as well. I've been clear from the start that I don't have plans of making a pic version and Dennis was supposed to make those. I can't help with that. Not sure if he still has any but when I spoke with Charlie Hood about making these, he still had a few pic versions on the shelf. If Dennis is too busy, you might try Charlie. I can't promise either way but it may be worth a call. I hope this is of help. --Mike EzellBuying a Davidson base, so I can put on a scope checker... that is going to require me to either a) buy all new Davidson style rings or b) buy a Davidson-to-Picatinny adapter... not sure I could put into (polite) words how much I do *not* want to go thru that kind of nonsense.
...or maybe someone could make a Picatinny-style scope checker base. Which is what I thought this thread was supposed to be about (as opposed to the other one, for your Davidson style version).
Given the lack of response, both here and on the Facebook page... not looking good.

Mike,
I didn't involve you in the discussion in any way, shape or form. I specifically asked *Dennis* if the Picatinny version he had talked about was alive or dead. Any references I made were to *this* thread, this project, and the people who were supposed to be the ones making it happen - not you, or I would have addressed you specifically. You jumped in on your own
I wasn't aware that Hood had ever made a Picatinny version. Since this particular project here seems to be dead in the water, I'll have to give him a holler.
Monte
Ok Monte,,my fault. Just trying to be of help. Yes, Charlie told me himself, that he had some picatinny versions on the shelf at that time.
Y'all asked for it ......
So here it is.
I don't know the actual weight yet. My goal is to have this come in at or below 13 ounces.
Features:
Black Anodized Aluminum Body
Stainless Clamps
10-32 screws
HeliCoil thread inserts
Price = $195.00 (and that includes shipping to any US address)
How does one get in contact with Mr. Hood?
Yeah
It's still alive
I'm just stretched thin on available time right now
So what do y'all think about a base that would attach to a PICATINNY rail or 3/8" DOVETAIL base on your rifle?
Obviously you'd need to use Picatinny Rings on the scopes.
I haven't ran any yet.
I can add this feature to my design.
