Pets in your reloading area?

Both my cats, since deceased, were on my bench if I was at it. The older one would pick empty cases up, carry them in to the bath room near my gun room then put them behind the toilet. Other than that they would curl up and watch until they feel asleep.

This happened while I was cleaning the rifle in the garage. She (GSD) only likes expensive, no longer available Turkish walnut forearm from my Beretta 682 gold E shotgun. She helped herself to it out of the open gun safe.IMG_2979.jpgIMG_4019.jpeg

My wife's new Berneydoodle puppy loves to come lay by my reloading bench the concretes real cool for him to lay on. Wanting a hot drink so in the middle of resizing cases with Hornady paste case lube I left it setting open on my lower shelf about 16" of the floor. When I came back to my bench in a couple of mins. to go back to sizing I saw his head in that shelf. Wondering what he was doing took a closer look and a new tub of Hornady Paste case lube was gone the boy licked 1/2 the tub out while I was away. A pooh mess in the yard after that. I wouldn't be suprised that a cat might do the same. Keep an eye on your pets!!!!!!
I would not allow it because of spent primer dust. That's nasty stuff and I'm sure it collects everywhere on the floor where brass is deprimed.

Oh how I wish that were true...I have an eight year old Shorthair that still eats anything and everything he can cram into his mouth...paper towels, sticks, you name it! :(
Sorry I had to laugh at this as Shorthairs are well... weird. Mine has to be with Dad but always wants to run and play. So I have to stop what I am doing walk outside and say where are they go find um. She runs off and keeps looking back making sure I am watching. Once see gets distracted I go inside. Then when that wears off she comes in to climb on my lap. So I have lubed hairy cases....

Well maybe with some dogs, but not hound dogs!

My two Basset Hound girls lay at my feet when I'm at the bench. I can't move without looking first or I'd trip over them on a daily basis. Being Hounds, they have incredible scenting ability and can find anything anywhere if it has scent, which of course everything in the world does.

Lily and her sister Ruby at my bench:

One thing for sure, if any food item falls to the floor, there's no need to go look for it, as the two "Hoover Hounds" have already woofed it up, never to be seen again. Well, not until I see it again in the back yard in another organic form...... ;)
Look at those beautiful eyes

She gets annoyed if I'm working on her observation platform. She hates the sound from the AMP fans after they kick in, so leaves if I'm annealing cases.
