Off topic Dogs Let's see your pets

I'm 67 years old, and I've replaced my best buddy five times now. One of them was hit by a truck and killed when just a few years old, but all the others have lived a good long dog life. I've always had just one dog at a time.

For all of ya who are still in deep mourning for your last lost friend, I can only say that you're crazy to not let another dog take possession of ya. That is the only way to put the loss and pain behind you.

Every dog who owns you, steals a little piece of your soul, and they take it with them when they leave. Don't worry though, you will get it back with interest when you're finally the one who leaves this rat race and joins them and the Lord. jd
Very wise statement.

Jds I can't agree with you more. Grieve for losing your buddy, keep them alive in your memories (I keep their collars), then fill the void with a new one. Life is too short to not have one by your side, or laying lengthwise along your leg, sound asleep, in your recliner like mine is as I type. ;)

I found a couple of pics that were taken on some of the happiest days of my life. This one is of me and wirehair dog Gunner. We just got back from picking him up. He was 4 months, and I was just shy of 50.

This next one is me and wirehair dog Millie. She was 8 weeks, and I was just shy of 65.

I still miss old Gunner, especially when I look at the old pictures. But this little Mille has pretty much put an end to any pain I endured when I lost him. jd

Both beautiful. But that healer
That is probably the most intelligent dog I have ever owned, everyone thinks he's mean...nah he's a big ole softy, loves hugging ya. Our Sheltie is a great dog that ole girl is 17 and other than going deaf a year or 2 ago she's still a go getter, only in shorter spurts, after being outside with us or grandkids she like long naps...lol( heck I like naps after the grandkids myself)
