PDog Safari 2024 aka: Doc and Taylor's Excellent Adventure

In the beginning 2004
Great Scott folding table.
We were on our way to Nebraska and stopped in Cadiz, Ky and picked up this table from Great Scott Shooter's Supply, Larry Scott.

Greg Culpepper table. 3 legs with adjustable turn buckle to level. Two layers of 3/4” plywood glued together IMG_2651.jpeg

Cornett revolving table. Really tight tolerance. Used it in Montana at 2500 yds with a 375 Cheytac. Cornett Racing engines from Somerset , Ky. He was a race engine builder who went Prarie Dogging every year. IMG_2661.jpegIMG_2658.jpegIMG_2662.jpeg

Rick in Oregon BR Pivot Lite. No longer produced. Rick says he has a waiting list of names wanting these if I ever decide to sell. I have seen a couple in accurate shooter classifieds for $1800 and even $2000 and they were not the more expensive LITE version. The LITE version is aluminum with special cut outs to save weight. IMG_2655.jpegIMG_2656.jpegIMG_2657.jpegYou can see the cut outs in legs.

VolDoc

Ole Voldoc and I scored first 500 yd club shot at same time on Voldoc's first trip out west with me. Mine was field dressed by 87 V-max and Doc's crawled off a ways having a pencil hole through him from 6.5 x 284 Cooper Model 22 Varminter with 142 gr Lapua pill. Voldoc wised up after the shoulder bruising cleared and he got his 6 BR out. He offered to sell it because he didn't think it was big enough to handle the wind. On the last day I asked if he would mind if I shot the 6 BR Rem a few times. I reeled off 6 kills with it and he announced he believed he would keep it. First 500 yard shot voloc and birdog same place.jpg

Now that's
"OLD SCHOOL" right there
Oh, by the by Birdog did
NOT contract the "Black Death "aka
Bubonic Plague from "Playing with PDogs"
I think He got it from a
"Lap Dance" at Larry Flint's Hustle Club
in StLouis

LOL
Maybe
You can tell we were there early in the season by the long sleeve shirts and no green grass. Early April. We couldn't wait

Seeing all those tables makes me think of what I have gone through. I am on #4 right now, 1&2 are long gone. #3 is a combo of a table and a tripod. Buddy has a tripod and I just can not get comfortable with it, I have tried to like it.
If I had access to what I did years ago I could make a pivoting table to suit me. I have the top high enough with some mods now but now the seat is to low and is at it highest point. I sourced some materials a year or two ago a d about had a heart attack, I thought shooting components were high till I went looked at new aluminum and steel. I have to have a bench and seat that pivots as I stay on the scope longer than I do with binos or spotting scope.

Doc, are you using the N-540 in all your Dashers now?
Which action is your 6 BRAI? 4895 in it???

Trying to find loads that are not dependent on
H-4895 as I can't find anymore
Vit N-540 seems to be a good subsitute so far
in Limited applications for 6 BRA and 6 Dasher
with 105 Berger Hybrids=

Doc, you cleaned the 500 yard challenge rack and hit the 2" blackjack 4 straight times with the Nesika?? Was that N-540 ???
