Paintball

I was at the range yesterday when another member of the club showed up.
He started setting up his .22 cal and then pulled out a hot glue gun some plain paper squares and paintballs, the kind that they shoot each other with paintball guns.
He then proceeded gluing these paintballs on the paper, and posted them at 100 yards.
He invited me to join him, we would shoot at the paintballs and when you hit it they would splatter.
This was kinda fun for a change from regular shooting at a bullseye target.
Has anybody else ever done this?

Try some of those honey packets they give out at McDonalds for the McNuggets! They’re “free”!

Great idea, using the paint balls! The kids will love it!

Jon Newman who posted here as Octopus used to glue row after row of aspirins to the back of a target. I have seen him or Captain Bob shoot in the low twenties consecutively with out a miss at 100 yds.

We did that at the end of the year fun shoot. It was a dollar shot at 300yds winner takes all.

Paintballs on heavy paper is good for airguns too.
My bud and I scatter different color ones down the gravel driveway by my house for summer grasshopper bench shoot safari. When the males all get out and display for territory we spot by the paint balls.
Tan target 1 yard 10 o'clock the pair of yellow and blue ones. Get em John!

I used to teach rifle shooting to adults & kids. For fun, I would glue "Necco" candy wafers to black paper for targets. Kids got a big kick out of busting those targets. mike in ct

Paint ball golf is a great informal game for club events. One needs paint balls and golf tees. Typical set up is nine paint balls on tees at 100 yds. (centerfire) or 25 yds. (rimfire), lowest number of shots required to break all nine wins. The instant feedback is a kick. We used to run this game for the younger shooters at my range in NY. The participants enjoyed the game immensely and it got a few of them hooked on other forms of competition.

Moving the line to 200 will let you know how good a shot you are . . .

They ceased operations late in 2017 when they filed for bankruptcy, were bought in May 2018 and resumed operation, only to stop again in July. It was sold to another company that plans to start operations later this year... time will tell.

I miss Clark candy bars that used to made in Pittsburgh!

we bought 2 Annie 64ms's for 22 shooting. after a while we started shooting paintballs on golf tees at different ranges. problem was when the 22 hit em they didn't bust, you could see the paintball deflect through the scope

I like unknown distance practice with 300Mark. Sit on tailgate of P/U truck with many different sizes and shapes of water fill plastic jugs string them out from 1000yds to a 300yds from the truck. When you hit you get to call your shooting buddies next shot.

Billiard Chalks are very good targets -- they create a cloud of blue smoke when hit. NO liquid mess all over the target frame and ground, unlike paint balls.
