Package theives

Revenge or punishment is tempting, but I'd not want them coming back to burn down the house or something either. After all they know where you live. Talk to the local law enforcement, maybe a surveillance camera or 3 could be used.

RWJ only if your neighborhood watch also has the neighborhood beat down program. no prosecutor is going to bother with this when armed robbers get released with a warrant.
It’s amazing how “pirates” behavior changes when they realize they’re being watched! Living at the end of a cul-de-sac in a mostly retired community makes it very effective. Several of us have banded together and remove packages from each other’s porches if they remain outside at sunset. No need for any enforcement activities… yet anyway!

my cris crossing camera even caught the video delivery with audio. not going to post but i got it.
pretty cheap investment.
set to record motion, solar rechargable , IR
busted! lol.
I’ve been looking for a small solar powered Wi-Fi camera. Can you record to your device with this camera or does it need memory cards like a game camera?

I bought a couple of WISE wireless cameras. Sends video to your phone whenever the camera is activated by sound or motion. Requires a WiFi connection. Has adjustable settings. One of them is in a fake bird house. Confuses a few birds in the spring but I've not had a lot of trouble. I'm not trying to say they're the best on the market by any means but I've been satisfied with them.
We have no cameras in the house. Never liked that idea.

The porch pirates in our state just keep on giving and the recidivism rate is almost 70%. Our justice department just lets them back on the streets to commit more crimes. Fortunately or unfortunately, the perps seem to just prey on townhome subdivisions where there are a lot of opportunities.

What could a community watch legally do. Police must watch thieves steal $999.99 of goods, dump it, and return to repeat multiple time. Unless you live in a law and order region you are forced to endure the acceleration in crime as the Soros funded DAs refuse to prosecute. You could be punished more severely than the thief!

Good question! It seems that creating chaos is their end game… the reaction will be vigilantism which won’t get any coverage in the media… just like self-defensive shootings:(

"There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.”

― Ayn Rand

This has been happening in Louisville for several years now. The local news glorifies them by call the porch pirates instead of thieves. They just have not met the right home owner yet.

Same here in Shelby Co., happens in our more rural areas as well. All I can say is that many of the victims out here own land (and a backhoe), so that could be extremely risky now that awareness is spreading about these criminals.

At my mom's work, a woman had been going around stealing money out of purses. Nobody realized it happened at work until they got to talking about it and realized it wasn't just them. My mom hadn't been hit yet (probably figured she was so poor she didn't have any cash). Dad decided he was going to fix the problem. He took mom's wallet and put a little rat snake in it and zipped it up. He instructed my mom to leave her purse out in the open in plain sight rather than in her locker. Sure enough, it was too much of a temptation. When there was screaming in the break room, everybody then knew who the thief was.
