So I forgot my Thumbler with a few hundred 308 in it. Left it running with SS pins, water, citric acid and dawn soap for something like 36 hours.

My brass is a pretty shade of light pink now.

I'm opening this to insightful, and not so insightful comments, with the hope of coming to concensus...is it toast or is it ok?

The comment board is open boys....

What Texas10 said. It has worked for me. Tommy Mc

Agree with Ken, timer is the way to go on tumblers. I about can't remember my own name theses days and I would probably leave brass or bullets tumbling for a week if I didn't have the timer.

I ran some in a mixed batch of Ammonia. Should have been on St Patrick's day cause they came out the prettiest green you ever saw, along with my fingers and nails.;)

So I am gathering that this is simply an appearance thing. Since it will be loaded, stored, shot once and pitched, I might leave it pink! I also may try a limited scientific test. ive had several PMs too, with suggestions. Lord knows I have enough to test it!

My purse is alligator and shaped like a 1911 and my shoes are stinky sneakers...certainly not stylish. But pink ammo has a certain draw to it....'specially since it is for my Zombie guns. I think pink should be the new green.

You may want to trim those cases now, or trim ~.005 shorter than you were before. Almost guaranteed to have peened the case mouths bad enough to significantly increase neck tension.

Edit: The brass is fine though.

i agree. Just looking at them i can see they are rounded/peened. They are due for trim next anyhow.

As has been stated, there shouldn't be a problem with the integrity of the brass. In addition, it will now accessorize with your new Hello Kitty pink rifle stock much better. In the event you haven't recently acquired a new pink Hello Kitty rifle stock to go with the brass, I'd also suggest a timer for brass preps as a somewhat more economical alternative. ;)

It's easy to correct (don't ask how I know) Just partially fill a 5 gal bucket with the hottest tap water you have, and add just a pinch of Lemishine as you are filling. Dump your discolored brass in the how water and it should instantly turn back to a Normal brass color.
