Optics Planet No Response on Return - Out $600

I have had successful purchases with these guys but this Christmas my wife bought me a gun case that was too large and heavy so we returned it following OP's guidelines to the tee. I had to pay a good deal of money to have UPS ship it back because it "did not qualify for the free returns" they tout.. I have a UPS Proof of Delivery dated December 30,2020. We wait and wait and they shuffle some trash at us about "being busy" while they were more than eager to take new orders. Several e-mails later we are told that they never received the package even while quoting information about it that they would not know if the had not received it. They suggested we contact the carrier (we had given them the tracking number). So now, almost 6 weeks later we are out $600.

After the fact, checking reviews I should have known better (OP screens reviews sent through their website and denies negative ones).

Just had to get this out there guys...check the real reviews and use caution with these thieves.

I have purchased many, many items from reputable sites like Midway, Brownells, Midsouth and Amazon no name a few with zero issues. Why take a chance?

Sorry for the loss. I look on there only for product reviews. Have not and will not order from them because of the reviews they get.

I ordered from them back when things were good and they did OK, but were slow on shipping. It seems someone being slow shipping ties in with other forms of neglect like customer service.

Another one to be wary of is Palmetto State Armory. They owe me roughly $800 and their phone lines are always busy and emails do not get answered. I looked them up on facebood and found post after post about customer service neglect of customers.
We've entered a new era - we are not respected customers, but we are victims. Every company that gets big eventually spits on it's customers and isolates themselves from contact. If my local gun store weren't so inept, I would buy everything from them.

Turn it over to your credit card company.
This. Your credit card company will, typically, issue you a full credit as soon as you file the claim. Then it's up to Optics Planet to dispute it. You have a proof of delivery, so Optics Planet cannot refute that. You win. The only thing you're out is the return shipping cost.

I've bought quite a few things from Optics Planet, and only if they qualified for free returns. And I did return quite a few things (at least as many as I kept) and although it took them weeks to refund my money in full, they always did.

Service in the past year, in every industry around the world, has sunk to new lows. And it may get worse before it gets better -- if ever it does. The new normal is terrible.
