OPTICS PLANET ISSUE

Since I posted a reply that outlined I was in the middle of my (first) OP purchase.......I thought I'd follow up.

The scope arrived today. I was hesitant to order it in the first place because of previous threads I'd read here about OP. But at the end of the day: I ordered it Sunday. They told me it shipped on Wednesday - with a coupon for 2nd Day Air. And it arrived today - Friday.

But.....I'm not sure I'll buy from them again based on the volume of stories I've read.
 
I ordered one on Friday and they told me it would be here tomorrow, and what do you know, it showed up today.
 
I haven had a bad experience whth Optics Planet, will not use them again. I have a friend who is invloved in a problem with them currently. BEWARE!
 
I try to never pay for upgrades in shipping. At best, it’s generally a fairytale. At worst, an outright act of theft. For instance - go to your local post office and ship something priority or next day delivery. Odds are, once it wanders aimlessly across the country, it may, sooner or later, show up where it was headed. Address the fact with the PO. You paid an arm-twisting amount for services not provided. Are you due a refund? Common sense would lead one to think so. Don’t get your hopes up!
 
The only reason they get some business is, they have slightly better
prices than others. And offer discounts once in awhile.

and they mislead you into thinking they have everything in stock. Once you place an order and find out that was false you now have to jump through hoops to get your $$$ back. BTDT once and never again.

Also: If you search you'll find the same and more issues plastered all over the internet about them.

They use a drop and ship model and I'll bet they hardly stock anything themselves.

I love all those companies that email a tracking number and when you pull it up in the shippers system it shows "label created, package has not arrived at our facility". Sometimes 2 or 3 days for it to "arrive at our facility". Don't send me the email if it hasn't left yet.
 
I have had great luck with Optics Planet. However, I have had the shipping issue described with many different companies. It will indeed be shipped one day or two day, not only AFTER they get the order processed and packed. The only way to avoid that is to look for "same day shipping."

Than and quit waiting to order stuff at the last minute. I am as guilty of that as anybody.......

One day shipping just before Christmas and COVID??? Patience Obi One!!

I am constantly amazed at how much folks will spend to send something quicker. I once had a customer spend $31.75 to overnight me a check for $85.00.

Oh you think that is bad. When I was a cop I took a report from a guy that applied on line for a loan from some place i never heard of before. He ended up with a bad feeling when he paid the "Taxes" on the borrowed money up front. He then tried to get his money back and sent them, $1,100 to get his money back. Mind you he was trying to borrow $1500... That is when he called the police.. All money was sent via Green Dot cards.. So yeh he was screwed..
 
I ordered a Trigger Tech diamond for an AR on Black Friday and got it the next Wednesday without an upgrade. I guess I have had good luck with them because I have not had issues with them in 5-6 orders. I can tell everyone here, if you ask for free shipping, you will should expect days to get added to the shipment. There are ways the shippers and the shipping companies reduce cost for that shipment that "can" add 2-3 days to the shipment.
 
I never buy from them Optics Planet ,Bruno's and Mid-Way if I can find it anywhere else. They are on my list of DO NOT BUY FROM!!! I won't cut off my nose to spite my face. But if I can buy it any place else I do. (even if I have to pay a little more) I Recommend everyone else do the same. Maybe these retards will learn if they lose enough business. Bruno's, Optics Planet & Mid-Way are HIGHWAY ROBBERS AT BEST!! AT WORST THE THEIVES !!

I will not shop at Optics Planet and have not for several years.
I purchased a Vortex scope from them, rings and a cheap accessory <$20 (I *think* it was a bubble level). The whole order was well North of $1,000, well North. Not my first order, I'd spent a few thousand there before.
When the order came. I was short the cheap accessory. I called customer service and they basically accused me of stealing it. I did eventually receive it but that was the last of my money they have ever seen.
 
Even when orders are fulfilled the same day, the shipping company will throw in a time delay. UPS tracking is a joke!
 
When I used to ship USPS overnight, their policy if
the buyers zip code fell in the overnight(24Hrs) zone
they would guarantee delivery, or my shipping fee
would be refunded. If outside of that zone it would
be second day delivery. The only stipulation, I had to
deliver the package to the PO prior to 1PM, that's the
time that special packages leave the PO.
I NOLONGER offer overnight delivery. It's all PRIORITY
MAIL. LDS
