Opinions on bore pastes?

What's your thoughts on using bore pastes like Iosso and JB for barrel cleaning and polishing? Think it has any detrimental affects on the bore? I hear alot of guys talking about it and both sides have good arguments as to why they do or don't do it.
Both are effective, IMHO. I use whichever I have on hand. One of those, and white vinegar, gets you to a squeaky clean bore in not much time.
After that, a single oily patch, then a single dry patch, and that’s a wrap.

I have recently been using the iosso containing product thorroclean. There is no doubt in my mind that its one of the fastest and easiest ways to get a barrel back down to bare metal. I do all my cleaning with a parker hale jag wrapped with a tight fitting cotton patch soaked in the abrasive. The cleaning rod spins with the rifling not jumping the lands. Usually 35-60 passes and the barrel passes the bore scope test. BUT...... I have noticed that previously tight fitting brand new brushes seem to pass through with little resistance after this cleaning process. It leads me to believe that there is some bore opening taking place as much as it pains me to say so. These brushes on a brand new unfired barrel are tight fitting in a .236 bore krieger for reference. Any ideas from the experienced crowd on why this happens?

Since I did not see it mentioned, I have been using BoreTech's Chameleon Gel on a tight fitting BoreTech nylon brush when I really want to get the bore thoroughly cleaned up. About 30-50 strokes and patch it out with BT Eliminator and spotless. It is not a very aggressive abrasive but whatever is in the combination of products, it is really effective and cleans out quick. I mainly use it on a new barrel while doing a shoot and clean deal for the first 10 rounds or so. I've become so fond of BoreTech's products that, if I had the money, I would go full out Victor Kiam on them. ;)
