Opinion on Hart Barrels

have had 2 hart barrels. one in an ar-15 and another on a rem 700. the ar-15 barrels shot excellant. the m700 (.300 win 30" 1-9") copper fouls REALLY bad. but that may be the steady diet of 240 SMK.

I currently own two Hart barreled rifles, one in 220 Swift and the other in 300 RSAUM, both shoot exceptionally well. When I used to compete in short range score shooting, I owned several Hart barreled Hunter Class rifles and all were more than competitive. They make a very good barrel.

SCR308: I bought my first Hart barrel in '95, just went over my records, and the count is now up to a total of 12. They have an excellent track record, with not a single bad one yet. Give them the contour you need, and usually the brown truck is at my door in 4 to 6 weeks. Minimal break-in, easy to clean, and no question's about them being accurate. At the top of my list of favorites. :)

All the previous posts said everything there is to say. I have a Hart on my XTC rifle in 6mmAR and it broke in easily, cleans up quickly and will out shoot me any day of the week. I have owned barrels from every major barrel company out there, and I’ll match a Hart against any of them.
I hope this helps,
Lloyd

Hart Barrels -great service and delivery, great accuracy and internal finish. Minimal copper fouling. Accuracy life comparable to all other top-line makers (in my experience no significant difference in accuracy life based on type of rifling-button or cut-rifle).

HART BARRELS. I have been buying Hart Barrels for over 35 years {NEVER had a bad one. "' They have a proven track record and you can't go wrong with one. If it doesn't shoot well better look at your Gunsmith...
Hart barrels have been shot and winning for many many years, fact is shillen learned some of the rifling process from hart. They are top Quality and worth every penny.

Well Thats what I was looking for. Thanks Guys!!!

I am thinking they will be my dedicated barrel maker for Southern Custom Rifles when I get started. Still a year and a half out but getting there.

SCR308,
I currently have several rifles chambered with Hart-Shillen-Krieger-and Douglas. They all shoot lights out but Hart is @ the top of my list followed by Krieger, I don't think ones better than the other necessarily maybe its just a Ford/Chevy thing. My first custom barrel was a Hart and it shot great!! so maybe that why I like them better?
Wayne.

You're planning to start a custom rifle business and aren't even familiar with Hart barrels?

None of us were born w/a hart barrel mounted in our rifles, we all had to start somewhere with something.

I know who they are. Haven't used one yet. Thanks.

Don't know of any better. They have been around wince he 50s,and made barrels for Sniper 30-06
rifles,in heavy varmit weight.A friend ,and Marine sniper, from the early 60s, still has his(presented to him years later),and after 2000 rounds through the tube is still sub 1/4" MOA.I have had two on my 243AI,and both shoot in the 1s.Never had a copper issue with either. They clean faster than any barrel I have.Check his waiting time for a barrel or installing on your action.
Course I know all good companies in the shooting industry are busy.Shooters must be responsible for keeping the economy alive.HURAH!

Hart Barrels : As good as it gets ! Have a 1:14 on a 223 used very heavily on the Prarie Dog fields . Over 10,000 Rounds and still going strong . I keep reminding myself to buy a back-up . BTW , the Barrels come from Harts in Upstate NY . The Actions come from the Pa. Hart . Both do Gunsmithing .
