Opinion on Hart Barrels

Ordered a Hart barrel for a 6br xp100 build. They called me back a day later with a different option. Saved me some money and could not be happier with the XP100 barrel I received. Great people to deal with and a fantastic barrel.

Don't know, but I ordered my reamer from Dave Mason in 1983 to build my rifle based on my specs with another guy who was a cast bullet guy, he was shooting a 308 x 1 1/2", I changed it to a 30* shoulder and ordered it, been shooting it since, had a XP-100 chambered in it too

I bought 4 last year, two 6mm, and two 20 cal.

I shot a 6 last fall as a 6 BRI, excellent!

I currently own two Hart barreled rifles, one in 220 Swift and the other in 300 RSAUM, both shoot exceptionally well. When I used to compete in short range score shooting, I owned several Hart barreled Hunter Class rifles and all were more than competitive. They make a very good barrel.
Back in the day,80's I had both PPC's & 30 cal.hunter class barrels as did others & they shot as good as any if not better.

I own two Hart barreled rifles...one in 6.5x47 & one .223AI. Both in HV weight for target use. Jim Hart put the rifles together for me including custom contouring barrels, custom chamber to my specs on the .223AI, and bedding actions. I couldn't be happier with the product and the work. Great people to work with as well.

I've put on several Harts and they all shoot very good, clean easy and are straight. They are one of my top choices when choosing a button rifled barrel. Call Jack, he'll set you up with whatever you need.

Worked in industrial maintenance for 35 years. The super that hired me gave me some good advice. He said: If you pay attention, you will learn something new every day. Fifteen years later I was telling the new hires the same thing. I am 76 and learn something new every day right here.

I have no experience with shooting there barrels..I have ordered and owned one of there blanks..
I can say from my own experience the people at hart are like all the other reputable /custom barrel manufacturers
They know what there talking about, spent plenty of time on the phone making sure my order was just what I needed..
My opinion..the shooting-gun industry it a tough one I'm a tradesman and know how much work goes into selling your product and promoting what you have to offer the customer..many hrs of labor pissed away..just to hope for another 500$ sale..
We are all over worked and under paid for the crap we deal with on the job day to day..
And when I get on the phone with some one who can forget all that stuff and really just care that you get the best product they can offer..
Let me tell you..that means alot to some like me..and those minutes on the phone cost money also..so 500$ for a good barrel..seems pretty cheap even by today's standards..manufacturers sell plenty of trash for 500$..spend money on something useful that will last..was Manufactured sold and distributed by some one who actually cares..
To me it doesn't matter ..support the fragile industry..pick a barrel company that has the mojo you want and dont look back..
hell I know guys who go out on Friday and piss away 500$ at the bar..f that..I want something to show for my hard labor..and I want something that will preform as or better then I do..that is all I expect for 500$..and I believe we receive more then that for our money ..at least that has been my personal experience throughout the custom gun industry..top knock folks with some bad ass products..damn mad love for American pride and craftmanship..
That's what its about..one of the only honest industries left..but it's being picked away little by little by our corporate America and by politicians stuffing there pockets..
Hart barrel manufacturers..good medicine my friend..I now will step down off my soap box..sorry all that just kind of came up .. rhetoric vomit..blaaaa..

Jim Borden uses Hart for his standard builds. At least 6 years ago he did. I don’t have the sample size to argue that the one I owned was any better or worse than any others. I have only had one defective custom barrel. It was very off center at the muzzle. It was my first semi custom build. It shot fine but bothered me.

I have had maybe 30+ barrels from them and all have been just awesome, if I see one listed in 22, 6mm, 6.5 or 30 cal, most likely I am going to buy it, I have one that I have been shooting in 30BR from 1983 with over 10,000 rounds and it still shoots amazing.

Now that is impressive to me..goes to show if you take care of your tools they will take care of you....
I have to admit..when I'm shooting I sometimes get excited and heat up the barrels a little much..because it's just right and I want to get the rounds down range. ..if I could only leave the kid in me at home when I pull the guns out..haha I would be fine..but maybe that's why I shoot in the first place.. this is a good thread..

What do you guys think about Hart Button Rifled barrels. Let me know all good and bad. Thanks
Just got my first hart barrel.. Have a Remington sendero chambered in 300 weatherby mag. My gun smith built it with a hart barrel and added a brake..blueprinted the action, polished 100% contact!! The gun shots one hole at 100yards with 180 grain nosler accubonds!! I'm not talking touching I'm saying one hole with 3 shot groups..freakin amazing !!
