Once again having a problem with my 17HMR

Hey,
So my 17HMR is cracking the cases again! This is my 2nd Savage 17HMR since the 1st one was cracking the cases. I was wondering how dangerous this could be since it's only doing it once in awhile, not like my last one where it was every clip(5) it cracked one. I don't really want to send it away again!
Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks!

Does this happen to different brands of ammo?
Does this happen more, or less in warm weather?
Have you tried warming your ammo just prior to shooting?
Have you thought about moving to Arizona?

Yeah I saw your range pics. Just like mine. Only you are further north.

Yes it has been happening to different brand ammo, Hornady and Federal. I’m not sure about the weather since I’m unsure which outing I shot the ammo. I’m going to monitor it from now on. I will try keeping my ammo warm to see if that changes anything. Thanks for the help. I will keep you all posted on anything I find out.
Thanks!

I plan to take it back, get it over with now so I can have it when good shooting weather comes along. Just have to play with my Savage 7mm 08. Starting to reload for that gun now.

Thanks for the help!

Had the same problem with my first 17 HMR. NEF replaced three barrels before replacing with 223 barrel,(no extra cost). Later found others having the same shoulder splitting problem and heard it was do to possible improper annealing of brass. Just what I read. What do you think? ???
