17 HMR Savage intereting findings

This is my 2nd Savage 93R17 BSEV! My boyfriend has the 93R17 BRJ and I measured his cases to find out the difference in my cases, since my gun is splitting the case again. So the differences are:
Neck .002"
Just before the rim .001"
No change in the shoulder

And after measuring one of my old cracked cases from my 1st gun, I found a difference of:
Neck .003" compared to my boyfriends cases

Any thoughts on this?

This is unbelievable.You guys must have the luck of the irish.I would call savage and make sure it is the gun and not the ammo.If it is tried ansd true ammo,I would call savage and tell them you want a complete new gun with a quality report with it stating it will shoot your favorite ammo with out any problems.This is rediculous! You should not have to go through this under any circumstance.What kind of ammo do you shoot through it?

Id call Savage! I had the same 17HMR never had any trouble like that and I tried all the ammo out there for it to see what it liked. Only problem I found was I could clean the barrel at all or my accuracy was gone for atleast 50 to 60 rounds.

I have shot mine a lot and never had a problem regardless of ammo. Snake bit I guess. Good luck surely Savage will handle the problem? PG
