Your wish has been granted. Back to humor!Well this was a fun thread while it lasted. BTY politics aside. I think Jimmy Carter is an honorable man. Mike
But we pay state taxes in Oregon, and they tax us heavily for the same goods.
Gas where I'm at in southern Oregon is only
$.07 cheaper than yours.
Close.........We had a guy over that owns a game ranch. He brought samples! I didn’t fire a shot or clean a knife!Your cousin
Here! Break the serious! That is OK, instead of charging a State income Tax, they have a Sales TAX. Unlike California who also has a Stale Tax, which only charges tax on goods, Washington charges on labor, shipping, anything you spend money on.
Compared to Oregon who has an average 9% income tax, WA has a 10%+ sales tax on everything. Then there is the car tabs. In Oregon they charge $86 for a two year tab, doesn't matter what it is a VW or a Mercedes. But in Washington, like CA they apply a tax based on a state established value. I pay $125 for a 2003 Ford F350. I have a friend that pays over $1000 on his Mercedes.
Add to that the Gas tax which they keep adding to, plus, plus, plus.
If I were to stay in WA in retirement my savings would last approximately 9 years less than it will in Oregon. Not as good as other states but I grew up in Oregon and want to return to the coast or near the coast.
You are promised only two things in life: Death and Taxes. The tax part is variable.
