Old Age, New Trident Rest

Thank you Rick for sharing your thoughts. Lately it has become a bit of a worry to me about sharing too much of future products I plan to launch with people copying my products.

Trident is also meant to be a lightweight and portable version of the AR250 meant for centerfire. It weighs roughly 12lbs but with a much bigger overall foot print for stability.

But for those who already own an AR250, I do have a leg extension kit coming out soon. It'll allow the AR250 to have similar width as the Trident base with the added heavy counternuts to add weight only at the very edges of the rest for even more stability. The legs are foldable so the rest is still portable.

These heavy counternuts will also be an option for the Trident later on for people who want extra stability. The heavy counternuts will only add about 3lbs in weight but are really effective in adding stability.

I know my products can always be improved so hopefully this accessory addition will allow you who have put your trust in my product a better shooting experience.
Love the idea of the heavy counter nuts for my upcoming Trident, although its at odds with my attempt to lighten up.

Any more “recent” reviews someone would like to share? I am on the decision point of ordering, but maybe needing a bit more convincing. Thanks in advance.

I am considering this rest as well, just want to understand the financial part a little better. I assume this rest is coming into USA from the outside world. So, Does anyone with the recent experience can share the duties added on the top of the quoted shipped price? I would be grateful.

I could not find any, are there any dealers in USA?

thanks

Here is the statement clearly made on the confirmation of my order:

"Prices shown already include all import duties
and taxes. Your order will be delivered straight to
your door—no hidden fees, no surprises."

I ordered a Trident last night after watching the videos John posted. I contacted them and got an instant response. That sold it for me. I’ve contacted two other rest companies over the last several weeks to no avail. I believe it’ll pack better and setup easier than what I have. I believe John could have tweaked his setup just a bit and it would have been rock solid as he stated. I’m only shooting club matches and I’ve been doing it off of a Shade Tree Rest top on Caldwell bottom. I am still pleased with the shade tree. Mr. Butch has an amazing product for the money. I ordered a Trident and I am beyond excited about trying it out.

Does anyone who has one of these have the folded dimensions of this rest? I've got one on order and need to look for a case. Thanks.
Please share what case you have found or purchased since I just ordered a Trident tonight.

It is an optional addition as there are people who want "more" than needed. The heavy counternuts are about 3lbs in total but it's placed on the very edges of the rest which is really effective in adding downforce to the rest.

The heavy counternuts are not ready until probably January though as I'm still swamped with the production for Trident parts.

A disclaimer for those who aren't from the USA. I am currently only able to provide this duty paid shipping to customers in the USA for now but in the future I'll try to offer this service to other countries as well.

I’m haven’t received mine yet. Chris sent me an email tat it was going to be an extra few weeks due to wanting to make some upgrades to a few pieces before he shipped it. I appreciate the honesty and wanting to put out a good product the first time.
I’m not sure if the dimensions but I believe it will fit in an Apache 4800 case from harbor freight. It’s $59 and has an inside dimension of roughly 6-1/2 x 12-1/2 x 18. As soon as it comes in I am going to post about it and what I find to put it in.

That's exactly what I found it should fit just about perfect. It didn't hurt that they had 30% off for BF!

Yeah, I was looking at that model last night on Harbor Freight’s website.

I have an AR-250 that I use for both SB F-Class and Rimfire Benchrest and love it. After lugging a Farley around for years in CF F-Class I finally got a Mini-X and also love it for both CF F-Class and Benchrest. Still it's nice to know I can go to the Trident if the Mini-X gets to being too heavy.

Did not know this when I ordered. I assumed the additional $200 plus covered everything. Any idea what is the additional cost?

Not sure what you mean since I saw this on my order.

This is from Christopher, in this very thread

And an email order states this:
"Prices shown already include all import duties and taxes. Your order will be delivered straight to your door—no hidden fees, no surprises."

I ordered mine on 11/29 and my credit card was charged [$899(rest)+$189.34(S&H etc.)] = $1,088.34
Fair enough. This will be for my grandson, and I will continue using my SEB NEO-X.
