Front rest options

I have owned/tried most of the rests available and decided the feature I enjoyed most was a rotating top that will lock down tight when in its final position. That makes it easier for me to accurately set up on target. The Seb Mini-X is the one I chose to stick with.

I'm still using a Bald Eagle base with a Shade tree top and had a little bit of slop in the vertical. I just turned the two main bolts a quarter turn and it tightened it right up. Good to go. I can't recall the weight limit on this rest but I think I was a bit over? Anyway, it works fine now.

I shoot from a bench with a Sinclair F-Class bipod (in fact I have two of them that I bought in about 2010) along with a rear bag. They also were great for prone shooting, but at my age prone is no longer an option.

After using them for years at our range, there are now about 10 shooters who are converts and shoot with them at every session.

They are a bit bulky, but have no bipod hop and are incredibly stable.

I started F-class with a Bald Eagle/Shadetree; I still use it a lot on the home range. I moved to a Seb Mini for competition, very solid and easy to set up. Precise adjustments, but it is a joystick.

I am in the “same boat” as you are in deciding on a front rest. Trident has peaked my interest, but hoping someone would provide a thorough review.
