Old 7mm Mauser Ammo

What????? Nobody has a 7mm Mauser chambered rifle? WDM Bell (killed over 1000 elephant primarily with a .275 Rigby aka 7mm Mauser) would roll over in his grave and so would Harry Selby. Shaking my head in disbelief!

oh yeah hoz has a 7x57 and always will. its the1st highpower rifle i owned

Without a statement on the box that the ammo is non corrosive, you need to assume it is corrosive.

Thats good ammo and the brass is excellent for reloading.

Looks to be the only way to get brass right now. I have some 6mm Remington brass that i have no gun for. I assume that it can be run through a 7x57 sizing die and become 7x57?

Corrosive ammo is due to salts from the primer. If you have shot black powder, it is simple to clean a modern rifle with similar tools.

I picked up a box of old Remington 30-40 Krag ammo in the red and green box which I'm guessing was made in the 30's or 40's and they shot just fine. As long as the cases aren't deteriorated they would be worth keeping. I've gotten rid of ammo that I didn't have a gun for only to end up with one later and wishing I'd have kept it. Hang on to it.
