Wow, I just read a little about this, & it seems like this cartridge is right up my alley. Plus being a bolt rifle.
Keep in mind that that is strictly an OH recommendation.
In other states, without the stupid “straight-wall cartridge “ restriction, I would, almost certainly, recommend something else.
Well, if you change your mind, I have a Savage 212 that I would dearly love to dump on someone.I am looking for an "Ohio" specific rifle because I no longer enjoy shooting slugs out of my Rem 870 whuile hunting in Ohio.
I know things change fast, but a 20 gauge Encore rifled barrel, shooting 45.cal saboted bullets is accurate and deadly...and open sight fun, range or field.I am looking for an "Ohio" specific rifle because I no longer enjoy shooting slugs out of my Rem 870 while hunting in Ohio.
Not factory loadings, but some of the data from Elmer Keith and Skeeter Skelton for the .38 Special makes it go shoulder to shoulder with the .357 Magnum. Some of their load data exceeds factory .357 ammo specs.45 colt and 45 long colt???? I thought that was the same.
And 38 special, really? In Maryland, we have you use a rifle that developed 1200 foot pounds. What can ya get a 38 special in a rifle, 300 foot pounds?
