Greetings,
A kind of sad reunion with these two. My dad punched out a couple weeks ago. Both these two were his fathers, and were both the first .22 rifle and shotgun I ever shot. A Remington M-12 .22 and a Remington M-17 20ga. I’ve not shot either one since the late ‘70s.

This is my first time posting in a loonnggg while but I had to share my new rifle. Not really competing but just for the joy of shooting. It's nothing special but it's my first go at a nicer action. Interested to see how Preferred barrels shoot (Only ever shot Shilen pre-fits out of an old Savage).
ARC Nucleus gen 2
Preferred Barrels Medium Palma 24" chambered in 223 wylde 1:7.5twist
KRG Bravo w/arca
And topped off with a Razor Gen 2 3-18 (they've been on sale so I jumped) mounted in ARC rings

My first build more from simply wanting to do this than a desire to do anything specific with it.
AR-10 in 6.5 CM
Aero Precision upper, lower and hand guard
Tool Craft BCG
24" BSF Carbon Barrel
Luth-AR stock
HiperFire trigger assy
Sig Sauer Tango4 scope
Total weight with scope 13lbs

I've only done barrel break in shooting with it so far but it promises to be a fun one.

Post photos of your "Pride & Joy" here -- your favorite or best-looking rifles.

So people can see the photos easily, I suggest sizing your photos to 640x480 pixels. Host them for free on www.Tinypic.com, www.Photobucket.com, or www.imagebam.com . Tinypic is very fast, and imagebam allows you to upload multiple images all at once.

CROPPING IMAGES — for Newbies
Pixels are the color dots that make up digital pictures. Pixel counts are how we list the size of a digital picture. For example 800 pixels wide X 400 pixels high.

Most digital cameras now produce pictures with millions of pixels so they print with fine detail. When a photo comes out of your camera, it might be 3000x2000 pixels. That is TOO BIG for this FORUM. You want to downsize your photo. 1000x800 pixels is the largest size you should try to post.

You should resize your pictures BEFORE you post. It's easy to re-size your photos. Just open them in an image display program with sizing controls. MAC users can do this easily with I-Photo. For PC Users, we recommend you download FREE Irfanview image-editing software.

FREE Software: www.irfanview.com

Then simply open the image with Irfanview, select "Image > Resize/Resample" and choose 640x480 or 800x600. Then "Save As" the photo with a new file name. It is very important to CHANGE the FILE NAME or you may alter your hi-rez original!

That's a beauty

This rifle belonged to my father whom I lost this year right before my 30th birthday. He was a very frugal man. Aside from heirlooms the only guns he ever owned was an 1100 20ga wing master and this old Savage he bought the year I was born. I’ve decided to send her to Beanland Rifles and have him build me a 6.5x47L using all the original parts minus the factory barrel. I’ve built a lot of guns. Nice guns. But this one is by far going to be my biggest pride and joy.

Barrel shown is just for mock-up to ensure the stock will accommodate a #5 and help visualize the build. Please no Jackass remarks about it

sounds like a great project.

I don’t have any good pictures of my own, yet. I just picked it up at my FFL on Friday. This pic is from the listing at Guns International. It’s a G33/40 Mauser sporter in 6mm/284. I have no idea who built it or when. I suspect it was done in the 1960s because of the scope. I also think people may have been less hesitant to take apart a G33/40 back then. I think it’s just dreamy, though. The stock is some really nice wood. I may replace the barrel, though. That depends on how it shoots. It was a bargain.

Edit: I took off the stock. Stamped on the barrel was “12 66” and “Dillon”.
