Re: Official Gun Pix 'Pride & Joy' Thread

Elwood,

Thanks for the response... I didn't know they made such a thing (the magnetic cheek piece).

You're right PR&T don't, they use the C clip and although it works it does take some force to remove it, or at least it does on my other low rider stock.
This particular stock has a new riser mechanism made for it by a UK rifle smith, should I need to take the bolt out during a match I don't disturb the rifle in the rest.

Some great looking rigs on here for sure. Here's a couple pics of my new rig.

Surgeon RSR, Bartlein, LRB stock

Caliber is 6mm Competition Match. Barrel work done by Chad Dixon at Longrifles, INC and paint by AT Custom Painting. If you need a custom paint job, Adam is your man. His work is amazing and prices can't be beat. http://www.custompaintingairbrushing.com/

My son is into lacrosse in a big way. His rifle is painted in his school colors and has the team emblem airbrushed on the stock.

Re: Official Gun Pix 'Pride & Joy' Thread

Thank you for the kind words.

It is some of Mike Ezell's fine work. He is gunsandgunsmithing on here.

It is a Lawton 7500 action extensively worked over by Mike. Borden stock. Jewell trigger. Broughton 18 twist 30 Major for IBS score. Broughton 10 twist 6mm set up to shoot 300-600 yard games. Big NF BR, obviously, sitting in Kelbly polished 4 screw rings.

Re: Official Gun Pix 'Pride & Joy' Thread

Couple of the guys i work with wanted to build a custom .50. I work in a tool and die shop as a tool and die maker. I decided to build a .243 instead. Needless to say the other guys havnt really gone as far as even downloading prints. I decided on the .243 because of the versability of the round. It can be pushed fast and it can be used on varmint as well as deer. The 6mm bullet has a crazy awesome selection and there is alot of info out on the net. Everything is of my own design and machined by me. The bolt and action were cut on a wire edm then lapped to fit exact. Anything ground was done between centers. The barrel is single pointed and fitted to the action. After the bolt face was lapped into the barrel and action faces. The chamber i bored myself and then finish lapped it to fit the case exactly. The material is viscount 44 which is like 4340 but alot stronger. The action is bolt action but the bolt needs to be removed to load a new round. I kept it simple for my first build, but i have future ideas to better the action. The gun needed a stock so first i used a blank i bought from a local lumber shop. It worked well but i wanted something to represent me more. So i ordered a large aluminum blank and milled everything out. The result is what you see in the picture. It shoots amazing and i couldnt ask for more.
