Offical Reloading Bench Picture Thread

Not finished yet, need to get the ceramic tile walls done this winter. Safe, pop machine, and compressor are in another room.

Rembrandt, great looking room! Can you post plans for it? it is amazing. I would like to know how you did that rail assembly. That would solve a lot of space problems in mine.

Thanks

Who makes that little lathe, Al?

That's just an imported 7X12 marketed under the Cummins brand. It's great for little projects...gizmos, doodads and gizwizzies.

It doesn't always look like orderly. I just finished making a bunch of 30BR cases. Looks like someone threw a grenade in there.......

I would make a guess that Rembrandt does not have any children.but sure has a nice man cave.and I really like the idea of useing the tee slot for your press'.would think all so that you have or do work in a machine shop.

You guys keep it up showing those great pictures! I'm getting all sorts of ideas for when I start my room. I'm starting from scratch this time around and I might have enough room I've got 12 x 30 to mess with but some of it has to be a guest bedroom dang-it. Later,

Kirk

Kids are raised and on their own....doing the Grand children thing now. Feel free to use and improve on anything you see.

Rails are an aluminum extrusion marketed under the name 80-20....comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. http://www.8020.net/T-Slot-3.asp

Simple to install, using a router cut a slot in the bench and use bolts & t-nuts coming underneath to secure to the bench.

Can be used as a quick change method to swap out loaders, vises, cleaning cradles, etc.

That's about the coolest idea yet, Rembrandt! I've known of 80/20 for a while, but I never even thought of using it like this! This would solve a lot of problems with crowded benches...

Maybe someday I'll achieve the level of organization as some of you folks in this thread. On another note, I have plenty of wall space available for shelves since I seem to be the only one without a wall-full of plaques, trophies, medals and awards...lol.

I saw presses, powder, shelves, brass, bullets, peg board, assorted tools, a bench grinder, an easy chair, rifles, shotguns, TV's, desk top computers, lap top computers......and not one telephone! Well done guys. ;D

That's what I was thinking....if I'd bolted every press down permanently, the bench would need to be 50' long.

Rembrant, Are the under cabinet lights hardwired through a double bottom in the cabinets? I have been looking for something like that ,but cant find any at Home Depot without the messy looking in line switch setup....CRAFTY JOB !

Rembrandt, the Herter's press is just like the one I have used since I started helping my dad reload in 1961! They are sure built hell for stout. Tom

Thought I would go ahead and pitch in. I used two unfinished cabinets from Home Depot and two sheets of 3/4“ plywood for the top. A little finishing work made them look good. The aluminum press block has holed drilled to mount all the presses.

Here is my loading spot. It's nothing special, but it makes for a nice place to load a bullet or two.

Thanks,
Matt
