Part of the Report I just heard said LaPierre set himself up with a 17 Million Dollar Early Retirement Plan without the approval of the NRA Board . That and private Jet Trips , etc . makes one very suspicious .
Regardless of whether the suit has merit, all of the NRA's time and resources will now be focused on answering the suit. Not good any way it goes.

In 2015 the NRA had a Fund Surplus of roughly + 25 Million $ . Now there is a Deficit of roughly - 35 Million $ . The few NRA Executives who tried to fix this were ousted as was referenced by redrockranger above . The NRA needs to clean-house again . We need a strong but honest NRA , but looking back at the last Old Guard ouster , it wont be an easy task and who is up for Leader of that job ?
We should do a fund raiser for Wayne’s legal costs and a few new suits so he looks his best during court appearances
I was suspicious when La Pierre was spending $150,000 a suit and his 5 million dollars house and they keeping asking for more money from the members. nilebartam
The NRA was chartered sometime in the 1870's I believe. NY has changed somewhat in the last 150 years. All of Wayne's abuses aside, every one that has anything to do with the gun industry has left NY or wishes they had. What didn't the brilliant leadership of the NRA see the down side to the headquarters being chartered in NY?
Very good point . I have lived here for 59 years , when I was in school we carried our 22s on the school bus in the morning and left them on there till after school when we would get dropped off at the railroad tracks to go hunting or check our traps and make our way through the swamps to get home, usually well after dark. Pretty sure that policy has changed. The NRA was chartered sometime in the 1870's I believe. NY has changed somewhat in the last 150 years.
Ya think with salary and benefits in the millions he just might have a Tax Attorney on his payroll? Wait until he's convicted before passing judgement. After all, the NY Att Gen. is building a career changing event for herself. Bet she donates to BLM.Yeah. Maybe. If he is writing off stuff that shouldn’t be, then the opposite of that is he needs to claim the perks and benefits as income. Tax Fraud. Guys have gone to jail for using company assets to benefit them personally, and not claiming it. Usually turned in by an angry ex wife or a disgruntled employee.
that report is straight from a horses asshttps://ag.ny.gov/press-release/2020/attorney-general-james-files-lawsuit-dissolve-nra
Straight from the horses mouth. The Wayne and company have rode the NRA into the ground. It’s very likely that the NRA will be disbanded. Other organizations have been doing the fighting for years now while Wayne and company have looted the NRA and fleeced gun owners. I quit throwing away money on the NRA going back the the Heller case. I give to GOA now. Hopefully Wayne and company will spend the rest of their lives rotting in prison. Wayne won’t need $150,000 suits where he belongs.
