NRA, GOA, or 2nd Amendment Foundation,

What did he do to washington?
It is a long story.
Had to do with gun shows and the rules surrounding them.
Washington Arms Collectors, among others, suffered directly from his involvement by meeting with the State.
He basically thought he was smarter than everyone else and could manipulate the State,
It backfired with major consequences.

I see. Ill have to check that out. You just dont know what you dont know i guess. He seems like he does file a lot of lawsuits these days every time the gun grabbers pop up and he seems to be doing good work

Alabama HAS a State Association, but it looks like they can use some help. You might be able to have a big impact there.

State Associations are the "Front Lines" in keeping our 2A rights intact.

We who choose to live on the left coast do so because of the beauty of where we live and the majority of the people who live in our states who think like us. We also believe in fighting for what we believe in, as do almost everybody who lives where they live.

The NRA did not start as a giant group of like minded people, it started as small groups of like minded people who worked until they put aside their differences and came together to work together for the groups common goal, ... our right to keep and defend ourselves with firearms from those who would strip us of that right.

No war has ever been won by cutting and running, it's that simple. If our forefathers had not stood and fought to build this nation, ... there would be no United States of America.

If our small state run groups simply pick up the phone and talk to each other, then we have started the change that built the NRA into the powerhouse that it was before it was taken over by the greedy S.O.B's who run it now and only care about money and and not the second amendment.

Which organization is at the forefront on fighting Measure 114 in Oregon????

We've got the Iowa Firearms Coalition here that has got a lot of great laws passed in recent years.

I would choose the GOA until they get rid of current Nra management.LaPierre has to go. How many more decades does he need at the helm and all the controversy surrounding his use of planes and spending money like water. This is just what I read so look into it for yourself.

On the question asked I will stand by my reply with nothing to add. I will acknowledge, as others suggest, that there is no wrong answer. I think my own choice is the best but any answer is a passing grade.

On the thread drift my own priorities are first my local non-profit 501c3 range with hunter safety, 4H and other community activities. Next the united sportsman community range in the next county, which functions as a regional range, again with community activities and a rifle range to a thousand yards and more steel and single action activities. One of the reasons I live where I do. Next, a lower priority but still important, the state association. I am on the email list for Illinois and Virginia and follow other state and local groups. Finally the national level where as noted my own first national level choice is GOA but I have supported them all

Wife and i are both nra life members since the mid 80's
Hopefully some pieces will be left when new york is done with us.
The long term corruption by our leadership and the bod is unbelievable!
Don't send them any money, it will only be used for legal fees which are approaching 9 figures.

I may be mistaken, I don't know how to check my memory, but I think he was charged and convicted on tax charges a number of years ago. If someone could check on that, it would be public information. If that is a felony he can't own a gun in WA. and he probably lost his license to practice law. The NRA is corrupt from the top, WLP and the entire board of directors, dept. managers, regional directors, every one of them are involved or at least tolerant of corruption. Need proof, they certainly aren't listening to the membership. WLP needs to be prosecuted, and not defended by the money of the NRA, he can use the money he has taken already. His salary and his wife's is way out of line for a 503 (C) organization and has been for many, many years. His expense account numbers are also 'off the charts'. There is no reason to wait for the state of New York's action on the organization, WLP should be brought to trial by the organization NOW, in the appropriate jurisdiction. He should no longer be on the street, living 'high on the hog'. It's not rocket science, he is a grifter.

I am also a NRA member have been for years. Have to be a member to belong to a gun range .
If the NRA would stop sending out all their mailers , and daily phone calls, asking for more donations, they could operate on a smaller budget.

Good luck getting any of the staff out of their honey hole money pots. Same as the D C swamp creatures.
Enough said, I'm done.
