Nosler's Accubond LR bullets, NOT the regular Accubonds?

Has any one used these new bullets from Nosler enough to give a report on them?

I was really hoping to see Nosler come out with a 6mm in these new LR bullets, however they didn't! I wrote them asking WHY! However no response!

So, if anyone has experience with the 6.5 ACCUBOND LR"S I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY.
sORRY ABOUT THE CAP'S, MY COMPUTER IS ACTING UP!!!

I tried a few, but the noses were wrinkled. They grouped ok but not as well as regular acccubonds. I did not play with the seating depth, or load. Once I noticed the flaws in the jackets I took them back to Cabela's. It looked like the die creased them from the ogive to the tip. That was with .277 . A friend had a similar issue with some in 30 cal. Creases in the nose.

Nosler refuses to give out information on these bullets. Will not furnish dimensions, core composition. In addition, quality control issues as well. I am not going to waste my time and components to try them out.

DogBuster Could you share you experience with them? There is very little info on them.

They give the expansion figures down to 1300fps, however that is all they will tell you!

This is the first time in my life I have ever had a communication problem with Nosler! They used to work with the shooter/hunter till all problems were solved.
Now it seems the heirs to the throne have a different idea about dealing with the public.

Nosler in the last 10 yrs is not the Nosler of old. I had a problem about 10 yrs ago they just said: "nothing wrong with our bullets". I had old bullets that shot great, new box was .0005" smaller.

Try some of the new Barnes LRX bullets, VLD design, very accurate bullets & also very deadly. I could see no difference in accuracy in either Berger 168gr VLD or the Barnes 175 gr LRX.

Problem with Barnes is that they once again failed to meet the ever increasing demands for high BC hunting bullets. All Barnes bullets are notorious for horribly low BCs, and as far as long range hunting bullets are concerned, the new LRX is no exception.

I simply cannot see the need to even mess with anything other than Berger Hunting VLDs. They are King when it comes to long range hunting bullet BCs, and from my extensive personal experience using the 140gr 6.5mm in the field, they are also King when it comes to long or short range terminal performance on big game. They have set the bar so high that other mainstream commercial bullet manufacturing companies have a long way to go before they can best the trajectory and deadliness of the Berger Hunting VLD. And when also considering cost, Berger is still one of the cheapest premium hunting bullets on the market being that they always come in boxes of 100.

I've shot quite a few through a 264 win.

Bc appears to hold up out to 800 yards it lined up with my g7 rangefinder and another ballistic program.

69.3 grains of retumbo yielded 3225 fps from a 26" bbl.

Took awhile to find a load but they seem to shoot quite well.

+1 Have used the 6.5 130VLDs out to 700 yds. on deer size and 400 yds. on elk size game. One shot and it's lights out.

I have used the 6.5 LRAB. They look good and shoot well. Seem to shoot with the Berger 130 vld out to 600yds. Have not killed anything with them.

I have used the 6.5 127 Barnes out to 700 on game. It has the accuracy, but the wind drift vs a 142 SMK or 140 Berger VLD is not good. The going rate is also around 76 dollars per 100. Then again many of us are about to, or already have no choice in the matter because non lead is regulated. I really wish Berger would get in the non-lead game.

Brian Litz reviewed them (LRAB) on Snipers Hide. To paraphrase his comments, good design, but a long bullet and the manufacturer doesn't give suggested twist rates, which for many of these may be faster than what is commonly spec'd in OEM barrels. I seem to recall that his comments on one of the 284s was that it probably needed a 1:8.

I believe this is where he posted the teaser from his new book talking about bullets not performing up to their full potential BC if they aren't fully stabilized.

I agree.. I have shot the .277 150 and the 6.5 140 VLD's they work. I have a few buddy's who also shoot the .277 150 and the 7mm 140 VLD's. all have worked as good to better than anything we have ever shot. You really cant beet the VLD hunting bullet. I been hunting with them around five years. now this season i'm going to find out how well the 105 VLD works. I think the Noler .277 accubond LR bullet looks very exciting BUT you cant seen to find them anywhere and I doubt they could work better than the VLD.

Hard to separate the commercials from reality on my question, LOL!

And another clause stating that if you don't want to contribute any comments, opinions or information regarding the subject at hand...You need not say nothing at all and best keep to yourself ;)
